Christian

[edit]

I dislike the fact that some write band genres as Christian when wether or not a band is christian or not doesn't change what genre they play. It simply means that all (or at least most of) the members are christians, and according to some interpretations, that they have an agenda of conveying christianity to people. after I have changed the article slightly it will convey the same information, that they are a christian band, but without hinting that this a seperate genre from other bands that play similar music.

1. It doesn't change the genre, you are right. But they are still a "Christian band." They play Christian rock. Look at the Wikipedia article for its definition. IronCrow 00:51, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To elaborate on what he said... A "Christian Band" does not mean Christians in a band, don't be ridiculous. Christians in a band is considered just, well, Christians in a band. A Christian Band means a band that plays Christian Music. And Christian bands do not have the "agenda" of converting people, that's a common missconception. 98.198.83.12 (talk) 23:30, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I also cannot see how it is relevant that Mike Patton sings in Mr Bungle, it should be on the Mr Bungle article, not the blindside one. I have removed that.

Blindside CANNOT be a "christian rock" band because they do not play "rock" music. im removing the genre. AKStraightedge (talk) 23:29, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Incomplete discography

[edit]

Blindside has other releases which are not included in the article's discography. I know there are singles on iTunes, and a vinyl release. I'll work on the iTunes releases, but I don't know anything about the vinyl release.

The Videography keeps getting mess up. Before it said that there was an official video for Silence and now it claims that there is one for About A Burning Fire. These are both inaccurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.130.187.91 (talk) 00:49, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, they had a self-titled album, called Blindside, before A Thought Crushed My Mind. I physically own the CD. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Srvfan84 (talkcontribs) 09:26, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Emocore??

[edit]

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Blindside is defenetly NOT an emo band. Most of their "emotional" lyrics are aimed towards God.

True, this is not emo

[edit]

Blindside is NOT emo, I'll just remove the genre. Tecfan 15:20, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

YouTube

[edit]

This article is one of thousands on Wikipedia that have a link to YouTube in it. Based on the External links policy, most of these should probably be removed. I'm putting this message here, on this talk page, to request the regular editors take a look at the link and make sure it doesn't violate policy. In short: 1. 99% of the time YouTube should not be used as a source. 2. We must not link to material that violates someones copyright. If you are not sure if the link on this article should be removed, feel free to ask me on my talk page and I'll review it personally. Thanks. ---J.S (t|c) 17:58, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MOST of the YouTube videos here used as sources are valid. They are mainly home videos - not copyright protected. And they are used to prove statements of "new songs being performed," an entirely valid assessment upon watching the videos

Media References

[edit]

Is it even necessary to have this section? It seems to include music festival appearances as well, and is therefore almost certainly incomplete. The whole section should either be trimmed down, or it should just be removed. 69.236.64.186 (talk) 22:07, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
