Name
[edit]že is a letter of Serbian language (in Latin form). Matthew_hk tc 19:11, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
In Cyrillic form is Блерим Джемайли. Matthew_hk tc 19:24, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Not that Ж is different from З Matthew_hk tc 19:28, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- In Serbian Cyrillic Дж = Џ. They have a special character for it.--Betty Kerner (talk) 22:56, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
So does Macedonian - that is what is relevant. I am baffled as to why the Macedonian (Latinic) form continues to be used when he moved to Switzerland when he was only four, had no education in Macedonian and probably doesn't know a word. This is never the case with people born in pre-1999 Kosovo. Evlekis (Евлекис) (argue) 20:25, 16 March 2012 (UTC) Blocked sock:Evlekis.
His jersey says Dzemaili, so I would support a move to that; in either way, the article should not be moved to Xhemaili.--Zoupan 21:16, 9 August 2012 (UTC) Blocked sock:Ajdebre.
- His passport says Džemaili, not Xhemaili. --MacedonianBoy (talk) 16:10, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Nobody has suggested a change. I am curious as to why an ethnic Albanian family has maintained its spelling per Macedonian despite quitting the territory. I'm not against it! It's their choice! Evlekis (Евлекис) (argue) 16:53, 10 August 2012 (UTC) Blocked sock:Evlekis.
His shirt now reads Xhemaili. Does that mean he's officially changed his name's spelling? 213.193.122.138 (talk) 13:18, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- This is the English Wikipedia and reliable sources in English spell his name this way, up to and including FIFA. [1] '''tAD''' (talk) 20:47, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
