Proposal to undo the revert from Dovidroth

The revert performed by Dovidroth on 5 Dec 2023 reduced the quality of the page because:

It gives less accurate information about what the events are known for, which is the alleged targeting of civilians, not just for the scale of the attack (see https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/15/world/middleeast/gaza-israel-imports.html).
The statement that the IDF claimed to be targeting Hamas infrastructure is not supported by the cited source.
It removes the details about the invocation of the Hannibal Directive by a specific IDF colonel.
It unnecessarily states that the bombing continued after the second day.

I suggest we undo the changes made by this revert.
