Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this page better or have any specific information on how these engines differ from regular gasoline engines? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bo0ostedzx (talkcontribs) 21:45, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It would be nice to have some more in-line citations. A good spot for some would be in the future section, which currently has none. Cleanelephant (talk) 23:20, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alcohol and Diesel.

[edit]

Pre-leaded Petrol engines would run on ethanol as well as Petrol and many diesel engines will run on all sorts of fuels like chip fat and I believe ethenol. in many cases these aren't design features but I think its worth mentioning.(Morcus (talk) 15:49, 9 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

[edit]

This comment was in the body of the article, but I'm moving it here to make it more visible:

"If anyone stumbles upon this comment before I have time to come back and fix the errors described below, please remove it and properly mark this article as needing the appropriate corrections, because I don't know how (hence, the unsightly comment here in the source code). This article needs to have various sentences rephrased or restated. It includes numerous vague claims that are not cited and seem biased. I have removed the first (minor) instance, in which the non-quantitative description "a lot" was used to express the increased fuel efficiency of the 'standard H7 Series Engine' in the last sentence of the first paragraph. Another example can be found in the second paragraph: "Once hydrogen fuel becomes more popular it will be a lot less expensive than other fuels." Statements like this are speculative and should be either removed or restated and supported by appropriate references to well-documented research in order to establish validity without bias. The topic of the second paragraph also seems to be inconsistent with much of its content; whereas it is implied that the focus will be on WHAT a 'petroleum/hydrogen bivalent engine' IS, instead the body of the material wanders between several different topics and appears as a disjointed collection of sentences lacking a logical progression. My intention here is not to criticize the author's writing skills, but instead to recommend that someone with experience in writing unbiased encyclopaedic entries perhaps clean it up a bit for posterity. Also, it would be helpful if someone who has a more in-depth knowledge of the material contributes some external source material references and better definitions of terms. I would do it myself, but I simply do not have the time yet. I have not investigated the article beyond the second paragraph for lack of time, so the remainder of the article is in need of further review. I apologize once again for this ridiculously long comment, as it is the unfortunate consequence of my ignorance of proper editing technique in Wikipedia. Thank you for your patience and understanding. J.G."
