I have reverted the addition of the apostrophe for the following reasons: [1] [2]. Joe D (t) 00:26, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was Move Parsecboy (talk) 00:14, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
I note the apostrophe has been put back into Bishop's Hull as opposed to Bishops Hull. Do we have a reference to a document, perhaps from Taunton Deane or similar, that supports this - if so we should move the article to the correct name & redirect from the current name.— Rod talk 20:24, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
- I couldn't find a document online about the apostrophe, but the road sings for the village show an apostrophe. As I said to NinetyCharacters I live in the village, but am currently away from the village but will be back at Christmas, so will be able to get a picture then of a sign. I will try and find out some more information on why it got changed as well. Dukeicon (talk) — 19:16, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Having done a bit more checking it seems to be about 60:40 whether the apostrophe is included or not! The village web site, parish council, Primary School, Avon & Somerset Police & Ordnance Survey seem to include it but Somerset County Council history, SCC population estimates, Preschool, Environment Agency, BBC, English Heritage & Taunton Deane (planning application) do not. Therefore I'll move the page & see if anyone complains.— Rod talk 20:32, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- It appears Bishop's Hull already exists & redirects to Bishops Hull - therefore it is a bit more complicated so I will ask for admin help.— Rod talk 20:38, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- One of the original maps of Bishop's Hull from c.1884-87 has the apostrophe in it. My mum went to a talk that was held on Bishop's Hull and there were lots of interesting facts said about the village. One of the ones that she told me was that Bishop's Hull used to be a lot bigger than it is now, the parish boundary was around the area of the castle in the town centre, now Taunton. I have no way of verifying this at the moment though, for now it will be a useful fact in my head. Its a shame I missed this talk as I understand that it was very interesting. — Dukeicon (talk) 20:41, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Change of subtitle
[edit]The subtitle on the page currently says "Hospice" but it includes information about The Frank Bond Centre. The Frank Bond centre doesn't have anything to do with St Margaret's Hospice. - Dukeicon (talk) 15:49, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Expansion of information on St Margaret's Hospice
[edit]Currently there is very little information on St Margaret's Hospice, I think that this needs to be expanded. I will try to write something up in the next few days. - Dukeicon (talk) 15:49, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
History of Bishop's Hull
[edit]I have received a copy of a local magazine that has a bit of the history of Bishop's Hull from the 19th (I think) century, it details how the village was much bigger stretching as far a tangier, which is about a mile away from the centre of Bishop's Hull. I wouldn't know where to start with adding this information to the page, so I would like some advice on how to do it. I can scan the page and let people see it and see what can be done with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. --Dukeicon (talk) 20:06, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
