I believe, as the title of the book quoted in the bibliography suggests, that the last one was in 1912. (First World War put a stop to it, I imagine). It was quite an important festival in its day if I understand correctly - Mendelssohn played there, I think, and The Dream of Gerontius premiered there. If it wasn't for the link from the Gerontius article I'd suggest getting it deleted... Valiantis23:32, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
