Good start to the page. Overall, well sourced and referenced. There is certainly lots of additional information that could be added in terms of their ecology and genetics, but this is an excellent beginning.

I hope to enhance this page by elaborating more on some of the existing information while providing additional information on untouched subjects as well. Currently, there are no pictures on this page, so I hope to add some relevant photos of bioluminescent bacteria as well as depictions of some of the pertinent chemical structures such as luciferase. As far as information goes, one thing that I hope to contribute is the reason why bacteria (especially those found in the ocean) employ bioluminescence and how they utilize it as a form of dispersal. Moreover, I plan to expand on the power of bioluminescence for humans and how it is being utilized for scientific purposes. Although there is a lot of information to add, I hope to keep it as precise, simplistic, organized and interesting as possible. --Marissaogata (talk) 21:48, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ideas for more information

[edit]

The amount of information on this page is not representative of the interesting research available on this topic and I think there is a lot we could add to this page. Possible topics we could cover are diversity, distribution, genetics and ecological significance of bioluminescent bacteria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 17Tiff (talkcontribs) 06:17, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
