Ad
[edit]This article appears to be an advertisement for a single brand of biodegradable urn. The creator of the article is a single purpose account.--Jeffro77 (talk) 14:05, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Advertisements masquerading as an article.
[edit]Clearly in a violation of "Advertisements Masquerading As Articles"
Articles considered advertisements include those that are solicitations for a business, product or service, or are public relations pieces designed to promote a company or individual.
- Delete. The link "Bio Urns" which is a trade name for the link on Wiki Urn page. This is deceiving and confusing to the user/reader. On that page Bios Urns redirects to Biodegradable Urns This is the start of this Author/Admin to manipulate the search indexes and deceiving readers. This is a deliberate act of Search Spam.
- Delete. "Example" because this is lead-up self promotion of external links below, eventually linking to an eCommerce website.
- Delete. "Documentation" as this "patent" may or may not be checked and qualified in stated country, the statements only relevance is to a self promoting example above.
- Delete."External links" or show link(s) that are not pointing to the same product. Link to something that is relevant.
- Rewrite The opening statement, as the list can go much farther than only what the self promotion reveals.
- Keep.- Process so other Author/Admins can add to the conversation and improve the encyclopedic definition.

- There is no need to keep this article. It would be sufficient to have a single sentence at urn indicating the existence of biodegradable urns, without promoting a particular company.--Jeffro77 (talk) 23:48, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- This article has been proposed for deletion and then had the notice removed twice, and is therefore not eligible for deletion under the procedure set forth at WP:PROD. However, speaking as one of the editors who deprodded this in the past, I acknowledge the concerns about promotion. I also have to note that there appear to be several single-purpose accounts expressing opinions here. I am inclined to think that a merge and redirect to urn might be an acceptable solution. There more than a few sources about this, and the basic concept of the biodegradable urn does appear to be worthy of substantive treatment in an appropriate place. --Arxiloxos (talk) 00:56, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
This advertisement needs to be deleted
[edit]We agree that this article is an advertisement and should be revised to the true meaning of biodegradable urn. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Perfectmemorials (talk • contribs) 23:15, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- I have removed the brand-specific drivel from the article. I have also removed sources that fail the reliable sources criteria. The article should still ideally be merged to the main urn article. False marketing claims such as those about 'reduced carbon emissions' have also been removed, since the carbon emissions are released during cremation and have nothing to do with the urn.--Jeffro77 (talk) 02:51, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
