The Slom Prize

[edit]

I'm reasonably certain that the Slom Prize (as awarded the Billy Kay in 1974/75 for writing in Scots) isn't a real thing in the world. The only references to the "Slom prize" on google is this wikipedia entry. Is it possible that this is a mis-type of the Sloan Prize which is awarded by Edinburgh University for "a prose or verse composition in Lowland Scots vernacular"?
