[edit]According to one source[1] , it was record producer Milt Gabler who insisted on using Gussak. Gussak played on records Haley made for Essex, which was before Haley signed with Decca, where Gabler was a producer. Here is a session log doucmenting this. http://thegardnerfamily.org/haley/discography/recordings.html#583 8.2012 There are also a couple of books with more or less the same info.
