New NEWS today, for future editing

Quick editing has this runoff result already in the article. This is my first visit here.

Headline-1: Bill Cassidy defeats Mary Landrieu in Louisiana runoff

"Swells Republican majority in Senate; other races give House GOP biggest margin since Truman."

QUOTE: "BATON ROUGE, La. | Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy handily defeated Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu, denying her a fourth term and extending the GOP’s domination of the 2014 midterm elections that put Republicans in charge of Capitol Hill for the final two years of President Obama’s tenure. With Mr. Cassidy’s victory, the GOP will hold 54 seats when the Senate convenes in January, nine more than they have now." -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 15:18, 7 December 2014 (UTC) -- PS: FYI for future editing, there is a video also, of both candidates.

Clarification needed..

"On November 4, 2008, Cassidy was elected to serve Louisiana's 6th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, defeating incumbent Democratic Congressman Don Cazayouxwith 48% of the vote.[14] He likely owed his victory to the independent candidacy of state representative Michael L. Jackson. Jackson, who is African-American, finished third with 36,100 votes, more than the 25,000-vote margin separating Cassidy and Cazayoux."

Considering that it is a well know strategy to sponsor weak opponents, the above section is vague. --Wikipietime (talk) 14:40, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
