Tournament winner and league championship

[edit]

From 1981 to 1992 inclusive, the Big Ten awarded the conference championship to the winner of the conference tournament. In 1993 the conference went back awarding the championship to the team in first place in the conference standings and the winner of the tournament simply won the conference's auto-bid to the NCAA tournament. This needs to be reflected not only in this article, but all the yearly Big Ten tournament articles. This information can be found on page 111 of 2013-2014 Big Ten Records Book and on different pages of the other Big Ten Records Books floating around out there. --Sephiroth9611 (talk) 23:40, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
