Intelligent? It doesn't sound neutral. -- 201.69.46.227 (talk) 05:29, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It does say, "Ideally"! --Orange Mike | Talk 15:57, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the ideal

[edit]

We're told:

Ideally, a BNF is an intelligent, well-spoken individual who has earned the respect of other fans.

Of what field is it not true that, ideally, an exponent is an intelligent, well-spoken individual who has earned the respect of others in the field? -- Hoary (talk) 02:18, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removed it; sometimes they're just articulate blowhards. I did remove the "cite needed" about being Guests of Honor at conventions; take a look at the list of guests of honor on just about any article in the list of science fiction conventions, and there is the Fan GoH. (Heck, I've been a fan GoH a couple of times myself, and I'm a very small name fan.) --Orange Mike | Talk 17:19, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
