James and Ben

Should there be some mention of the fact that James and Ben Johnston are in fact twins? Perhaps a brief mention in Band Members, since it's an interesting piece of trivia (and not that obvious these days live since James grew his hair long and Ben cut it short)? I realise it could be seen as non-objective, and as fan information as opposed to something suitable for wikipedia, but I feel it could be a useful addition to the page. "Joy.Discovery.Invention"/"Toys, Toys, Toys, Choke, Toys, Toys, Toys" Double A-side

Apologies for double posting in here, but another item which could be looked at is the fact that the Joy.Discovery.Invention / Toys, Toys... single was a double A-side with songs from two separate albums, and yet the album is listed as Blackened Sky and not both BS and Vertigo of Bliss - should this be changed? Are there any other examples from similar bands which we can use as an example to base the decision on? JebJoya 02:28, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

At the time it came out, it was a JDI single as such, its just that Toys ended up appearing on VoB. I'd say it is purely a BS single.paul capewell 17:43, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough :) I guessed that'd be the outcome, it's just nice to have it mentioned on the talk page so anyone else who has that idea can see it's been mentioned before :) Now just to see whether the James/Ben thing should be added... :) JebJoya 20:15, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

I'll get round to that soon. Daisy-berkowitz 20:22, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

New Album

Tim Buckley - With the new album coming out soon this article will need to be updated a lot more. Also, It might be a good idea to write more on the album pages lest this page gets clogged up. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tim buckley (talkcontribs) 12:08, 27 August 2006.

This is ridiculous now - why isn't there a puzzle page? How can we get the redirect to be unprotected? Stu57 01:30, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

NPOV

Chris BTT - I still think it reads too much like it's been written by a fan - I don't think it satisfies the wiki 'objectivity' thing. The main article's getting quite big as well now - should it maybe be split into a history? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 193.133.69.244 (talkcontribs) 12:21, 26 January 2006.

Tim Buckley - Good idea. i might edit the whole thing when i have some time. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tim buckley (talkcontribs) 16:12, 7 February 2006.

I've edited quite a lot of it for objectivity, and started to put in details about the lyrical basis for the songs, which i'll follow up when I can get the time to sit and cross-check the references... ChrisBTT 10:55, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

I think the article is still very very NPOV - some of it's quite embarassing. ChrisBTT 14:46, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Vertigo Of Bliss

I've edited something that I'm surprised nobody else has picked up on - that all this time, The Vertigo Of Bliss has had its "the" omitted from the title on here. So all links to THE Vertigo Of Bliss now point to a correct link. John.. 20:18, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Puzzle

Doesn't anyone think that their fourth album, planned for release in March, and already having had a single released from it, as well as having another single planned for February, as well as having enough information about it to warrant it having it's own article by now? --Daisy-berkowitz 17:12, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes there was one, but that has been redirected to the main Biffy Clyro page. --Tim Buckley 15:43 07 January

I know there was one, I contributed significantly to it, but I was just wondering whether or not it should have its own article by now. Daisy-berkowitz 16:18, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
I can't see any reason why Puzzle doesn't have it's own page. The part of this page about Puzzle would be fine as a page on its own! Yes it's not actually been released yet but as a concept it is very pertinent and current to anyone interested in Biffy, and there's no reason why it should be on this page and not a page of its own. Unless anyone has any complaints or counter-arguments I'm going to move the stuff about Puzzle back to Puzzle (album) in the next couple of days. Tbone762 18:59, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Ok turns out I won't be doing that because the redirect page is protected. Ah well. Roll on 21 May 2007 Tbone762 01:08, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
I've requested that the page be unprotected here. I can't see any reason why it would be refused so once the protection is removed the content from the main article can be moved over. Simon KHFC 14:51, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Mon The Biffy

Does this essentially mean "I'm on the toilet"? (I'm on the biffy)81.86.76.6 02:42, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

No. Mon is shortened from C'mon. Nice idea though :pSmithybob 21:32, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Does 'biffy' mean 'toilet' then? I always thought it was short for C'mon, but I read somewhere that the origin isn't crystal clear... Tbone762 19:01, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Noone really knows where it comes from. Ive heard stuff about a cliff richard biro too. I reckon they keep it a secret cos its more fun that way.Smithybob 10:47, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

They clarified it when they went on Colin Murray's show on Radio 1, it really is just short for 'Come on', nothing else to it. Can you cite a radio show? Tbone762 11:52, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Of course it's short for 'Come on' it's Scottish slang. If you don't believe me there is a sketch in the Scottish show, Chewin' the Fat about a deranged animal rights activist who would do to a person what he/she is doing to an animal, such as pour salt over a man who is salting slugs - followed by "Now you what it feels like eh? 'Mon The Slugs!" (Just on example)
As for Biffy, I've never heard that to mean Toilet. ≈ Seraph 16:08, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
I'll back that. " 'Mon " is just short for "Come On". Chewin' The Fat is one of the more obvious examples of it. Ah, these non-Scots....Anyways, the Biffy bit, no idea in hell. --SteelersFan UK06 17:38, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

I've put something like a reference to it on there. Trouble is it's a gig listing, so it might disappear some time after May 30. It was just about the only mention of the phrase outside forums, message boards and comment pages that I've been able to find. Also, it writes it as "C'mon the Biffy", so it can be a reference for the explanation of the phrase as well. Anyone found any more? Tbone762 14:29, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Update: Actually just found this mention of the phrase, in a rather anti-Biffy review. Anyway, it doesn't matter what the reviewer thinks about it, the point is he explains the phrase. Is this a better reference than the gig listing? Or is he too opinionated? Tbone762 15:07, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Puzzle article

Ho hum. I asked for the page to be unprotected, and now Puzzle has its own article. Enjoy. Daisy-berkowitz 23:19, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Nice! At blinking last... Tbone762 22:33, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

BC userbox

bcThis user yells "Mon the Biffy"!

In case anyone wants to put this on their user page, I've just created {{User:Tbone762/Userboxes/Biffy}}. I tried to match the colours to the artwork and CD of Blackened Sky, and the letters 'bc' had to be in smalls of course! Not overly sure about the colours still though so if anyone wants to take and look through the colour list and find better ones that'd be great. Tbone762 22:41, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Live Date

Is a live date necessary? Is it notable? Should it be removed? It's only a support! Granted it's for Muse though. Would it be better to find a reference suggesting that this was a milestone in their career or something similar? Tbone762 09:09, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

This section needs massive cleanup. No fewer than four fansites? Interviews? Unless any of these are notable because they are significant to the band's career, I think they should be removed. Tbone762 09:09, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

James And Ben's footballing beliefs

Does anyone know if the Johnstons are Killie fans? --> 7+1 22:05, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Is that relevant though? --SteelersFan UK06 19:46, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
I've heard somewhere that they are, but unless they are famous among Kilmarnock fans, or it has actively influenced their work (which I don't believe it has), then it's not really notable, so not suitable for inclusion. Unless of course there's a journalist somewhere who's taken the time to write something about it? Tbone762 22:50, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Very good article with many refrences, would suggest it be nominated for good article status. Franko2nd 15:37, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
