Article needs a second set of eyes

[edit]

I've just made some pretty substantial updates and revisions to this page, which were badly needed. I can tell though that some of my particular flavour has rubbed on on things. Any editors with a European perspective on bike maps in particular would be greatly appreciated. We could also use some example images that are not based in Cincinnati! Suggestion of additional information

[edit]

Hi! I think the Wikipedia page on bike maps requires updates and some fun enhancements. Firstly, I think the definition of a bike map should be more detailed, encompassing its purpose, key features, and benefits. Examples from different regions worldwide should be provided to illustrate the diversity of bike maps available. Notably, there is a gap of knowledge regarding the first-ever bike map, which would be nice to include to provide historical context.

Moreover, the page should delve into the specifics of map applications tailored for cyclists and their role in enhancing road safety, possibly by lowering accidents. Including fun facts such as which country boasts the highest number of road maps can add engaging content. Additionally, the page needs more diverse images, as the current ones solely represent Cincinnati (as you stated in the talk page).

A timeline detailing the development of bike maps over the years would offer valuable insights into their evolution. Criticisms and controversies, including concerns about the safety of bike lanes and potential hazards highlighted by Google Maps, should be addressed. Specific locations where bike maps are prevalent, along with famous bike paths worldwide, deserve mention to provide readers with practical information. By incorporating these elements, I think it'll make the page more well rounded overall. Hope you agree! Millie044 (talk) 13:43, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
