Biographical details and controversies
[edit]I’ve changed Cele’s middle name and birth month to Hamilton and April respectively. This is supported by all the reliable sources I can find – the only sources that say John and February are mirrors of this page. Parts of the earlier version — especially the sections on “gun control” and “beach control” – were clearly written by someone hostile to Cele (e.g. “Bheki Cele has vowed his desire to disarm legally armed South African gun owners,” when he was clearly proposing to change the gun ownership laws). I’ve changed and expanded those sections, but I’m not sure they should be here at all — gun control legislation and lockdown regulations seem to be government policies, not Cele-policies? Community Policing Incident (Gugulethu)
[edit]There was a community meeting where Bheki Cele was shouting on Ian Cameroon, because he didn't like what he was saying about the formers lack of competence in terms of policing: https://www.iol.co.za/business-report/careers/meet-ian-cameron-the-man-who-wants-to-take-down-bheki-cele-e3500aef-a228-44e8-9516-9eb53a39c294 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHJg-sP4RQE 105.8.6.232 (talk) 10:10, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
