Nazi flag content removed

[edit]

Hi all. I have removed the entire "Nazi flag" section from this article. This is as clear cut a case of WP:Wikipedia is not a newspaper as you are likely to ever see.

News reports. Wikipedia considers the enduring notability of persons and events. While news coverage can be useful source material for encyclopedic topics, most newsworthy events do not qualify for inclusion. For example, routine news reporting of announcements, sports, or celebrities is not a sufficient basis for inclusion in the encyclopedia. While including information on recent developments is sometimes appropriate, breaking news should not be emphasized or otherwise treated differently from other information. Timely news subjects not suitable for Wikipedia may be suitable for our sister project Wikinews. Wikipedia is also not written in news style.

Before adding back, please demonstrate on this talk page how the "Nazi flag" is of enduring notability. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 03:28, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. Bacondrum (talk) 05:48, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think a section was overkill but I do think it probably warrants mentioning: even the town's rally about it got more press coverage/public attention/taught more people that Beulah exists than the town's probably had in about the last decade. Not too bothered either way though. The Drover's Wife (talk) 22:12, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I tend to agree that some mention is warranted, it essentially put the place on the map. Such a tiny and remote town making national and international news is noteworthy - though I accept that the section was too detailed. Bacondrum (talk) 22:26, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
