  • The ten-episode season was broadcast on Mondays at 9:00 pm (Eastern) in the United States on AMC; excluding the premiere episode which was broadcast on a Sunday. suggest reword to "The ten-episode season was broadcast on Mondays at 9:00 pm (Eastern), except for the premiere which aired on a Sunday." (AMC and United States are already in the previous sentence).

The Optimistic One, this is nothing against you or the article, but because I know nothing about the series and haven't watched anything related to it I'd like to seek a second opinion of someone more familiar with the contents who can possibly provide comments on that subject or the article as a whole. Thanks for your patience. Heartfox (talk) 07:06, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. The Optimistic One (talk) 20:15, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Heartfox: this second opinion request is asking for somebody to read through the article and check that all the summary of fictional content is accurate, right? My memory is imperfect but I have seen this season (and the rest of Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad) so I can check that things are at least broadly true. Would anything further be required? — Bilorv (talk) 00:47, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Bilorv: do you mind checking it over? Heartfox (talk) 03:29, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Read through the lead, "Cast and characters" and "Episodes" and just have three comments:
  • Nacho tells Mike Lalo wants Nacho to burn down one Gus’ restaurants should be Nacho tell Mike that Lalo wants Nacho to burn down one of Gus' restaurants.
  • Mike tells Jimmy his post-traumatic stress will pass with time shouldn't use the phrase "post-traumatic stress" because I don't believe Mike does.
Done The Optimistic One (talk) 21:09, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • pro bono is sometimes italicized, sometimes not.
Done The Optimistic One (talk) 21:48, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Other than this, the descriptions are all accurate to how I remember the characters and events. — Bilorv (talk) 10:47, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@The Optimistic One: can these changes be made? @Heartfox: is this the sort of second opinion you were looking for? Sorry for failing to give notifications, forgot about this one for a few days. — Bilorv (talk) 21:25, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Bilorv: Yeah, sure. Just noticed this now. Thanks! The Optimistic One (talk) 21:33, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The final few episodes of the season were highlighted by some critics ... "some critics", but only one is cited?

Fixed Some Dude From North Carolinawanna talk? 01:12, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rhea Seehorn's performance as Kim during the fifth season was given praise ... by who/if only from ref 53 than that should be said, avoid just saying "given praise". it theoretically could have been given negative reviews too. Heartfox (talk) 01:24, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • while Libby Hill of IndieWire referred to her as the "unsung hero" of the series. — how can an article from May 2019 be used to describe her performance in the fifth season which was not released until 2020?
  • Alan Sepinwall of Rolling Stones ... Rolling Stone
  • is "to try to leverage all the contacts he has in the world of selling drop phones." He also posed a question about Saul's reputation "as not just a criminal lawyer but a criminal lawyer?" And also asked what would it mean "to him at this point?". — reread this sentence pls. MOS:LQ issues and "And" is capitalized? what are drop phones? (wikilink)
  • said that the episode "Bagman" was the most "challenging" episode he has had to direct so far — how/in what way? the reader hasn't read the source

I realize that I was not as timely with comments as I should have been, but every time I come back to this article I feel like I find more stuff that's just a bit off. I just feel at this point that no one has re-read it in its entirety to find basic issues. I'm not going to fail the article as there are good parts, but I don't feel like continuing to act as the reviewer here so I'm going to have to withdraw, and preferably someone with more subject matter expertise can take it on. Sorry, Heartfox (talk) 07:25, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • Infobox looks good.
Nice to hear!
  • Is there a reason why Bob Odenkirk is the only actor who has his character after his name in the first paragraph?
Sorted
  • "Vince Gilligan, co-creator Peter Gould" → "Vince Gilligan; co-creator Peter Gould"
 Done
 Done
  • Per consistency with the lead, add the names of the actors who portrayed Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in parentheses.
Done The Optimistic One (talk) 00:34, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Done Drovethrughosts (talk) 21:59, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cast and characters

[edit]
  • "recently reinstated to the New Mexico bar association, now practices" → "an attorney recently reinstated to the New Mexico bar association who now practices"
 Done
  • In the caption of the second image, add a comma before "and".
 Done
  • "consultant, "fixer"" → "consultant and "fixer""
 Done
  • Actually, a lot of descriptions are missing "and"s between each "profession". Add them.
 Done
Done The Optimistic One (talk) 01:02, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • In #Recurring, is there a reason why some characters have references and others don't?
Any characters that have references were added before the season began airing, because we needed to source for any upcoming appearances. Characters that don't are simply ones that were added to the list after the season began airing. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:50, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Some characters, such as "Drama Girl" and "Sound Guy", should be in lowercase per MOS:TVCAST and some rules in WP:FILMCAST.
Done The Optimistic One (talk) 17:50, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Production

[edit]
  • "the series co-creator" → "series co-creator"
 Done
  • Are the last two sentences in #Development all necessary since it's already in #Broadcast? Maybe just mention that "In November 2019, AMC confirmed that the fifth season would have ten episodes and would debut on February 23, 2020".
 Done
  • Is #Writing just quotes? If no more information can be found, I would merge it with #Development.
 Done
  • Is the "And also" a new sentence, or a part of the one before it? Sentences shouldn't start with and.
 Done
  • Since Jimmy McGill is currently linked in #Writing, I would link the rest of the characters in #Casting.
Done The Optimistic One (talk) 17:59, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Combine both paragraphs in #Development.
 Done Drovethrughosts (talk) 22:01, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • "On what to expect in the fifth season, series co-creator Peter Gould" → "On what to expect in the fifth season, Gould"
 Done Drovethrughosts (talk) 22:01, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Due to the recent changes, the last sentence in #Development doesn't seem necessary so I would remove it.
 Done Drovethrughosts (talk) 22:01, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Episodes

[edit]
  • Reword the sentence "Nacho reveals to Gus Lalo's plan for Domingo".
 Done
  • Remove the commas after "unnerved by the offer" and "fought with".
 Done
  • "DEA find the three dead" → "DEA finds the three dead"
 Done
  • "Mesa Verde business" → "Mesa Verde's business"
 Done
  • The description of episode 8 is 201 words, failing MOS:TVPLOT.
 Done
  • "as decoy" → "as a decoy"
