Wikify the list of games please

Is there a reason the games in the "Alphabetical List of Games by Bethesda Softworks" list are not wikified?

because it took me forever just to put the list together and find all that information. feel free to upgrade it --Omniwolf 15:12, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Moved from the article - "Oddly enough Bethesda's main offices are on Picard avenue, which is the same name as a character from Star Trek played by Patrick Stewart who will be voice acting in their upcoming game, Oblivion." LordJumper 06:21, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

TES5 in '10

i dont think that TES is going to come out in 2010. i would say 2011 or 12. think about it, now to the middle/end of the year they are focusing of FO3 and everything for fallout 3.(like patches, DLCs and others) there is no way they are going to pick up full development ship it in 2010. yes i know how games are in "side-development" but that is not enough because even if they do get finish with the game they still have to do tons of stuff like: "bug squishing", publishing(since they have to do it manually), misc.(like meeting their milestones) also this is and should be a big to huge game so level designers, testers(especially with TES), and THE STORY. so really do you think that they can meet their 2010 shipment? why dont want to be rushed, again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.125.158.97 (talk) 21:25, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't matter what assumptions you have about the development schedule of Bethesda. A Bethesda representative specifically said they are currently planning the TES V for 2010.

No they haven't. A recent interview with Todd Howard at Quakecon has him stating that they will probably be getting back to The Elder Scrolls, but no mention of when. Bethesda is notorious for not saying what they're working on until they have something to show for it. I would love to see the quote made by a Bethesda rep. My guess would be 2012.

The interview is at the link below and the comment comes in at about 3:55. http://pc.ign.com/objects/014/014297.htmlYasgur (talk) 21:58, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Merger proposal

Does anyone here object to me merging Ashley Cheng into this article? I think it would fit better here than in its own article. I also don't think she is notable enough for her own article but can be mentioned here. MuZemike 20:28, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Just delete Ashley Cheng's article outright. It's not notable enough to warrant either a separate entry for itself nor for merging into the Bethesda Softworks article. Sslaxx (talk) 15:45, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Merge completed; not really much there at all to merge. MuZemike 20:58, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Disk check problem?

Which version of the multi-platform title in question does this "disk check problem" affect? Which source/s are used for this information? Shouldn't the section be in the Fallout 3 article instead? Should it be there at all? I don't want to just storm in and delete someone's work outright, but barring a rewrite with relevant cites (in the relevant article!), this section should be binned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Divey (talkcontribs) 09:46, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Gridiron! published by EA

I believe that Gridiron! was published by Electronic Arts. As I recall, Wayne Gretzky Hockey for the Amiga was the first game that Bethesda published themselves. 66.91.18.109 05:08, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Founded... when?

There are inconsistencies in the article regarding its founding. The infobox states 1985, but the article states '86. I've found limited information about this, and most, if not all, the sites I've seen point to this source. So is it 1985 or 1986? En-AU Speaker (T) (C) (E) 03:58, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Unannounced Project

Todd Howard said at Quake-Con, that Bethesda was developing a project. It was already two years in the making, although no more info was announced. http://www.vg247.com/2010/08/13/bethesda-confirms-new-project-in-development/ Should this go in the article? If so, under which section? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.192.247.73 (talk) 06:47, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

If you feel the source is good enough, add it. There is a EuroGamer article with an interview with Todd Howard where he elaborated more on it. It would also go under "Upcoming Games" 76.171.23.130 (talk) 22:40, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

TES5 Unannounced

I deleted TES V from the list of upcoming games. There's no proof whatsoever that TES V is in production. TennysonXII (talk) 19:24, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Prior to you deleting this the game had been announced in numerous interviews and had been shown in clips at the previous E3 industry event.

There are now even more announcements as well as a game trailer released, here is one of many sites carrying information on the subject: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/280129/news/elder-scrolls-v-release-date-announced-gets-trailer/

There is plenty of proof that "TES: V Skyrim" is in production for anyone who knows how to use google. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Omniwolf (talkcontribs) 23:58, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Mass Effect 3?

Isn't the Mass Effect series developed by Bioware? Why is Mass Effect 3 listed as an upcoming Bethesda game? thursiya (talk) 05:41, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Yea that is right, its developed by Bioware and published through EA on PC and Microsoft on X-Box.

Executive Info

The article does not list the names and contact information for the executives (CEO, COO, etc.). I believe any article regarding companies should list the executive and board members. Tesseract501 (talk) 19:06, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Vandalism

The second sentence in the History section of the article is grammatically flawed. The article is semi-protected, and I'm not sure how best to revise it. What do I do? Dubk (talk) 15:41, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Physics-based?

The article reads, "Bethesda is credited with the creation of the first physics-based sports simulation." Someone may need to clarify what "physics-based" means. The term appears to be a technology-based idiom attempting to describe the new programming. As such, most lay readers may not understand what it means without clarification. Bethesda Softworks vs. Bethesda Game Studios

These are two seperate entities both owned by ZeniMax Media. Softworks is the publishing arm and Game Studios is one of the Zenimax in-house studios. They should not have the same page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.231.182.245 (talk) 21:20, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Should Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks be separated into different articles?

Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks are two different companies.Even if they work in the same building,it doesn,t matter, they have different priorities. If that was the case then this article should have been merged with the ZeniMax Media,Vir2 Studios and Mud Duck Productions Articles.Considering they all work in the same building.I am going to try and separate these articles later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Timur9008 (talkcontribs) 18:39, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

If you are separating them you should be sure you can expand it beyond a stub since it already was a separate article for over a year but I merged it since it never went past a stub article. Patent lawsuits

Bethesda has been involved in at least one patent-related lawsuits (as defendant versus McRo, Inc.) Plus, I think there are others involving parent company Zenimax that pertain to Bethesda games. These should all be covered in the article.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  01:01, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Could you provide [a] source/s for the prior statement? For the latter I believe that they are not quite relevant to this article as ZeniMax-handeled legal issues did not directly affect Bethesda, or the developer of the games in question. Lordtobi () 18:46, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Controversies?

This is not a controversy:

The claims of "hostile takeovers": is this a precise term, or just a common gripe? I don't see any source from Arkane (for instance) saying this was a hostile takeover that they gave into; just bystandards complaining and claiming that's how it went down. Guardlifer (talk) 05:33, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

There was a big controversy at the time regarding the whole metacritic bonus thing in the gaming community. For the record, i don't work for ZeniMax or Bethesda(I don't even live in the US), i have no reason to lie, i am telling it like it is.I just have researched ZeniMax and Bethesda far too much for my own good. Also regarding the second question, the Arkane thing was sparked by this, an alleged Arkane employee.Timur9008 (talk) 02:57, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

Semi-protected edit request on 27 May 2018

On June 24, 2009, ZeniMax Media acquired id Software, whose titles, including Rage, would be published by Bethesda Softworks.[1] Between 2009 and 2012, the company expanded publishing operations, with games from independent third party developers such as Rebellion Developments's Rogue Warrior, Artificial Mind and Movement's Wet, Splash Damage's Brink, and inXile's Hunted: The Demon's Forge. 64.72.210.21 (talk) 20:32, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

Introducing the unlinked "Daggerfall" without context

The Elder Scrolls series was mentioned earlier in the article. And I know that that includes Daggerfall. But mentioning Daggerfall without a link out of nowhere stands out as "Well, whoever reads this has got to know what Daggerfall is already". Which doesn't seem appropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8807:5480:50C:AD51:E637:1804:94AE (talk) 18:11, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

Creation Club

I expected Bethesda's Creation Club to have been mentioned in the Controversies section seeing as it garnered some general backlash for its implementation (being branded as "paid mods" and for there being alternative free mods that were deemed superior to those Bethesda offered etc.), and was otherwise seen as a slip-up in Bethesda's history. Heck, for all it's noteworthiness, Creation Club isn't even mentioned on either of Bethesda Softworks' or Bethesda Game Studios' articles, and while it does have its own page, it's extremely brief. Wikibenboy94 (talk) 20:30, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
