Could an admin/reviewer please review this development and add to the article? - Siemens invests $130 million in Bentley Systems, pre-IPO

[edit]

Bentley Systems had this article written about them on Philly.com dated 11 Nov 2016: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inq-phillydeals/Siemens-invests-70-million-in-Malvern-software-firm.html [1]

Here is an excerpt of the article that shows the main point: "Siemens says "virtually all Siemens divisions," including Energy Management, Power Generation, Building Technology, and Mobility, will now use Bentley software to collect application information "for design modeling, analytical modeling, construction modeling and asset performance modeling."

I am affiliated with Bentley so I do not want to make any edits to the article myself as not to break any conflict of interest rules. I would very much appreciate it if an admin/reviewer wouldn't mind taking a moment to look at the brief news article, and if it is acceptable, update the article to reflect this notable achievement.

Thank you in advance for your time! --MBouch16 (talk) 15:50, 11 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

At least one major contributor to this article has declared a close personal or professional connection to the topic, and thus a conflict of interest. Conflict-of-interest editors are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly, but are always welcome to propose changes on the talk page (i.e., here). You can attract the attention of other editors by putting {{request edit}} (exactly so, with the curly parentheses) at the beginning of your request, or by clicking the link on the lowest yellow notice above. Requests that are not supported by independent reliable sources are unlikely to be accepted.

Please also note that our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:29, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I just wanted to make a note that I did disclose my affiliation with the change. I just wanted that to be clear. Thank you.

These aren't WP:RS and routine business practices such as investing are not notable. Regards, Spintendo ᔦᔭ 18:02, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Spintendo,

Thank you for reviewing. The citations are from non-related online sources many of which are in the article currently for other acquisitions listed (such as engineering.com and constructionweekonline.com). Would you please reconsider adding these items to the article? I added extra citations in case this helps. See below. Thank you.

Hi, resubmitting me previous request after adding some more sources. Full disclosure that I am affiliated with the organization. All I would like to do is add the extra Acquisitions to the existing list just like many other articles out there currently do.

Please note that the citations included below are from non-related online sources many of which are in the article currently for other acquisitions listed (such as engineering.com and constructionweekonline.com). Would an editor please reconsider adding these items to the article? These are just facts. I added extra citations in case this helps. See below. Thank you.

  1. Merely being true, or even verifiable, does not automatically make something suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia.[1] Articles should not become a complete exposition of all possible details, but rather, a summary of accepted knowledge regarding their subjects.[2]
  2. Verifiable and sourced statements like the ones from your request are treated with appropriate weight.[3] As your references are all informed by communications from, and press releases made by, the company itself, I'm afraid their particular weight is not enough to justify inclusion.
  3. Please take care not to duplicate other editor's signatures in your posts. Editors are free to use their own signatures, but not to reproduce the signatures of others. Thank you for you help on this.

Thank you for the feedback. Sorry about including another person's signature. I'm newer to Wikipedia (as in I am not on it enough to know all the nuances) and copy/pasted without thinking to go back and strip the signature out.
