Updates to make article more dance-centric

[edit]

Hi! I updated this article to have it focus more on his career as a dancer/choreographer. He actually has a very impressive career, and I thought the page should reflect that more than just that he is married to Natalie Portman. That is important too though! Let me know, if I went too far in the opposite direction!

Tschaikovsky vs. Tchaikovsky

[edit]

How should the name of the composer of the music for “Serenade” be spelled? Most Westerners now spell it Tchaikovsky, but City Ballet took up, during Balanchine’s lifetime, the spelling Tschaikovsky. Why? Because that’s how the composer spelled it when he was in New York in 1891. (My thanks to the reader who sent me a copy of his Carnegie Hall autograph from the Pierpont Morgan Library.)

Natalie Portman section

[edit]

There is actually no proof that Bejamin Millepied is dating Natalie Portman. It's been speculated by unknown sources but as well all know, that can't be taken as proof or what not. Fact of the matter is there is no solid evidence of these two people dating each other. It's more of a popular rumor rather than a fact.(172.190.182.87 (talk) 09:28, 11 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Here is the latest news:

NEW YORK – Natalie Portman is pregnant with her first child and is engaged to Benjamin Millepied, the choreographer of "Black Swan."

A publicist for Portman confirmed Monday that the couple are engaged and expecting, but declined to give any further details. People magazine first reported the news.

The 29-year-old actress and Millepied, a well-regarded ballet dancer and choreographer, met during the making of "Black Swan," Darren Aronofsky's psychological thriller that stars Portman as a ballet dancer. She's been nominated for best actress by the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.232.215.122 (talk) 19:37, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Surname Pronunciation

[edit]

How about someone add some sort of pronunciation for the name Millepied? I am from the USA and the tendency for me is to pronounce it like the arthropod millipede and I don't believe that to be correct or is it?Mylittlezach (talk) 23:15, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
