In the article, there is mentioned: "Briggs, his wife and daughter, and the crew of the Mary Celeste were never found. Their fate remains a mystery." See the Mary Celeste Wikipedia.... The ship left in Oct 1872 and was found adrift in early Dec 1872 so it seems they just estimated? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.66.124.26 (talk) 16:06, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
