Have redirected on the basis of failing WP:GNG. Player was previously deemed notable under the WP:NAFL for having played one Victorian Football League game, but this SNG no longer exists after WP:NSPORTS2022. Redirected to the player list article rather than deleted based on previous AfDs for similar situations, e.g. Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Graham_Kemp.
All references in the article are database or Holmesby & Main. His entire Holmesby & Main entry reads "THOMPSON, BEN J. (CARL.) - 1999, 1 game, 0 goals (b. 4 Oct 1978, 186cm, 80kg). From Queensland club Kedron Grange he was a flanker who could play half-back or half-forward. He played his sole senior game off the interchange bench on opening day, 1999.", little better than a database and not WP:SIGCOV. Google search for Ben thompson carlton shows up databases and wikis only [1]. The sole substantial reference I could find on Thompson is this one, from the Blueseum wiki. Conclusion is that multiple secondary significant independent sources do not exist and shall never exist. I have made this change unilaterally as I believe it uncontroversial, but the above would be the basis for an AfD nomination if required. Aspirex (talk) 20:40, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
