Descendants

[edit]

Hi IZAK, the list of descendants isn't encyclopedic. I don't see how we can keep it. SlimVirgin (talk) 11:35, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SlimVirgin: you raised a valid point (above) back in 2006 but nobody seemed to follow up on it. The extensive list of every descendant is suitable for a genealogy website but it doesn't seem to belong on wikipedia. Ping: Yoninah any thoughts on this?--Cts499m (talk) 01:20, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Cts499m, I don't have time to get involved in this, but I'm heartened to get a response after 14 years. It means there's hope for my other posts that people ignore! SarahSV (talk) 02:23, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
SarahSV What's 14 years after all! --Cts499m (talk) 02:53, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
SlimVirgin is absolutely right. I'm commenting out the section. Looks like the whole article needs citations. Yoninah (talk) 09:52, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ben Zion HalberstamBen-Zion Halberstam – Ben-Zion is a single double-name Jewish name, hence should be Ben-Zion, not Ben Zion. Shimmy (talk) 03:31, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm curious if you guys understand the subtle difference between Ben-Zion, Yom-Tov (as first-name) etc. and Shlomo Zalman, Arye Leib, Usher Zelig etc. . Ben-Zion is something like McFerry or O'Connor while Shlomo Zalman are two separate names such as James Wright, Barack Hussein etc. Just saying you know. I found a good example to explain what Ben-Zion sounds like in Hebrew, see Yo-Yo Ma.Shimmy (talk) 07:04, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
