Note: I have followed the template that similar services such as Amazon Unbox, Apple iTunes, MovieLink and others have used (see competitors). My understanding is that i haven't put anything different from what these entries have. There is no advertising information, it is simply a description of the service -- which is what the competitor entries have provided.
Willing to incorporate changes to improve it to ensure it fits with Wikipedia policies, please advise on those needed changes. Samuelmenard 14:47, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on VideoPlay, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and put a note on Talk:VideoPlay. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks. Samuelmenard 14:58, 29 May 2007 (UTC) or ==VideoPlay==
Cleanup requiredPlease advise with specific details on what cleanup is needed. Thanks.
Deletion?
[edit]This article should be deleted, and a re-direct made to Bell Video Store which duplicates the information here. Note that the Bell Video Store service was discontinued in July 2009, making this article even less useful. --Bob (talk) 19:39, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- The article could just be deleted, as it severed as the only record of the pag'es history. (The new page has been established via a cope & paste move.) As such, I merged the histories of the two pages and restored only the redirect. Thus there are no remaining issues. --ThaddeusB (talk) 21:42, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
2011 Comment
[edit]Hello, Bell Video Store is an Internet-On demand service which allows customers to premium services of movies, television, and music for 1.99 plus contains an enriching social networking compenent to deliver a series of "widgets" that allowed users to interact with content on the site. By the way this article is excellently and neuttrally written. To me, this article has not been orphaned and just appears amazingly short and simple, but I would remove the orphan tag because other pages apparently link to this page, and to me why actually make me waste their time coming here to add links it already has. Besides it external links, dang, that's enough to me. I usually only respect sports related-music-politics to a lot of links. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.241.215.45 (talk) 11:42, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- I've removed the Orphan tag because this article is now linked to in the IPTV article. --Bob (talk) 02:08, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
Lack of citations in 2012
[edit]About the "Unreferenced" transclude: There were citations in the "External Links" section when the VideoPlay article was merged or converted into the Bell Video Store article back in 2009, and the demise of this service was a notable event. Unfortunately, the web site referenced http://www.bellvideostore.ca/ is no longer online. What's to be done in a case like this? --Bob (talk) 02:19, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- The best thing to do would be to research the topic and add some reliable source citations. Otherwise, you can change the {{unreferenced}} to {{refimprove}} if you feel it has some (poor quality) references already. --ThaddeusB (talk) 01:42, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
