The Low Importance Thing

[edit]

Among progressive rock fans in Europe this one stands out as quite an achievement. It was quite influential at the time. The bands Tasavallan Presidentti and Wigwam were of equal popularity at the time. It was difficult to get distribution outside of Scandinavia. This at the time of its release was one of the most thought out concept albums out of Finland. It laid out the career of Pekka Pohjola after this and also made clear how Gustavson was going to go his own way. It is so to speak the "crowning achievement" of the band with Pohjola and Gustavson still on board.

Given that, Pembroke, the lesser musician but the main lyricist was held back for a while and only became the leader after the break up of this version. Jim had very little to do on stage as the bassist and organist ran the musical part. Jim is quite good at song writing, and he contributed greatly at this point, but the musical differences are clear. The band was so democratic that nobody really pulled or pushed much. But here Gustavson clearly ran the show.

You can quote any of my text if you want to write a one paragraph introduction to this. The Finnish language text can easily be summarized. It labels the album as a satirical look at society. (https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Being) Tero111 (talk) 02:22, 15 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
