Outdated information and copyedits
Hello. Let me first disclose that I am an employee of Bechtel and have been tasked with representing the company on Wikipedia, taking over for MP at Bechtel who posted here previously. Like MP at Bechtel, my participation will be limited to discussions on the Talk page only. I will not be editing the article. That said, I do have a few updates to offer that I think will be helpful.
- 2001 is mentioned twice in the Increased business and visibility section: "In 2001, Bechtel was part of a consortium to project manage the US$4.3 billion construction of the CSPC Nanhai Petrochemicals Complex in China in 2001." Since this is redundant, can one be deleted?
- In Locations and operational activities, Montreal is listed as an office, but that location has closed. I don't have a secondary source to support that, but it has been removed from the company's offices on the website. If that suffices, can it be edited out?
- Per this news story, Peter Dawson is now the company's Chief Financial Officer and has been since 2014. Can the last sentence of the Management section be updated with this new information?
- Financials and rankings could use an update. To make it easy for other editors to replace it, I've rewritten the section using the most current rankings and articles. Take a look below.
- Bechtel ranked fourth on Forbes 2014 list of America's Largest Private Companies by revenue.[1] It has been named the top U.S. Contractor by revenue by Engineering News-Record for seventeen years in a row and ranked third on the publication's Top 250 International Contractors list by revenue for 2014.[2][3]
That's all for now. Looking forward to hearing back. Thank you CM at Bechtel (talk) 16:43, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

- all done. Dormskirk (talk) 19:16, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Great! I am appreciative of the help, Dormskirk. While reviewing the changes in Management, I noticed Brendan Bechtel's name is spelled incorrectly (see spelling here). Would you mind changing "Brenden" to "Brendan"? CM at Bechtel (talk) 13:55, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- Sorted. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 21:07, 21 July 2015 (UTC)

Global Business Unit Restructuring
Earlier this year, Bechtel restructured it's global business units. They're no longer OG&C, Power, Civil, M&M and Government (BSII), but rather Oil, Gas & Chemicals, Mining & Metals, Infrastructure, and Nuclear, Security & Environmental. As I am a former Bechtel employee, I do not feel it is appropriate to make this edit. However, this information is readily available on the Bechtel web page that is already linked, if someone else would like to make these changes.[1] Enveconfall2015 (talk) 15:44, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- Done. Further adjustment may be needed. Dormskirk (talk) 21:55, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, Dormskirk and hello Enveconfall2015! I'm hoping to help with further updates. As I've said above, I am actually a current employee of Bechtel, and I'm working on an update for the Locations and operational activities part of the article right now. Before I post it, I am working to make sure that it is as clear as possible which projects and areas of work belong under which unit. I will not edit the article with the changes and will be posting the update here for editors to review. CM at Bechtel (talk) 20:11, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
Updated draft: locations and operational activities
In the message above, I explained that I was working on a draft that updated the Locations and operational activities part of the article based on recent changes in the company. You can read the completed draft in my userspace here: User:CM at Bechtel/Locations_and_operational_activities_section.
Changes in this draft are as follows:
- New titles that reflect the new business units
- Reorganized information under those titles
- New projects and updates on in-progress projects
- New references to replace outdated articles or non-working links
There are quite a few differences and the new draft resolves some of the integration issues that cropped up when renaming the sections (primarily the old Power unit operations are split, with nuclear falling under Nuclear, Security, & Environmental and the other functions falling under Infrastructure). I encourage editors to review carefully and let me know if there are any specific items that should be discussed further. I'm prepared to address any questions or feedback others might have. Since I am a Bechtel employee, I won't edit the article myself and look forward to working with other editors to make appropriate changes. CM at Bechtel (talk) 18:17, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
- It looks pretty good to me. I have imported it. Dormskirk (talk) 18:26, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you, Dormskirk. The changes all look good. CM at Bechtel (talk) 20:14, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
