No Neutral Point of View

[edit]

This article is lacking a neutral point of view. Also it uses very subjective statements like: Along with the Shirley Avenue area of the city, it is generally, for no good reason, looked down upon by residents from other parts of Revere as well as Beachmont is the envy of many North Shore communities... I believe such statements serve no purpose. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.232.3.216 (talkcontribs) 18:38, 2 February 2006

I agree and have edited the article as such. -Dev

"Beautiful"?

[edit]

I really think the statement that Beachmont is a "beautiful" "hidden gem" is really subjective. I lived there many years, and I certainly would not describe it with either of those adjectives... Themikeg 20:47, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't sound like the Beachmont I grew up in

[edit]

I lived in Beachmont from 1983 until about 1996. I have never heard it called the Capital of the city. When I was a kid, the Beachmont kids were regarded (unfairly) as trouble-makers and thugs when we got to the High School (RHS). I found the area to be extremely racist and homophobic, and there was little goodwill amongst neighbors. Everytime I go back to get a beef at Beachmont Roastbeef, I am reminded of what a hole Beachmont is. The whole place is very shabby, garbage everywhere, and most people just don't care about taking care of the neighborhood. Given all of this, I don't regret my childhood becase it made me aware early on that life isn't easy, it's not fair, and you can only count on yourself. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Staskunas (talkcontribs) 23:40, August 22, 2007 (UTC).
