[edit]The Spanish name provided for the Bay of Campeche is incorrect. The proper name is the "Sonda de Campeche."

- Perhaps that term is also used, but it's marked "Bahía de Campeche" on my maps, and that's the heading in the Spanish Wikipedia. (For that matter, I've seen "Gulf of Campeche" used in English). Butsuri 01:02, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
- This article should not be called Bay of Campeche. There is a confusion. One thing is the Bay of Campeche and, on the other side, a much larger geographical incident is the Gulf of Campeche (also named Sonda de Campeche). The map shown here is not correct; it is indeed the map corresponding to the Gulf of Campeche. The same confusion appeared in es.Wiki[1] and has been corrected, or is in the process of being corrected. Maybe you'd like to rectify.--Yodigo (talk) 16:27, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Encyclopedia Britannica (which cannot be user-altered) indicates that Sonda/Golfo/Bahia for Campeche are the same body of water. On most maps, including Bing, it is BAY (Bahia) of Campeche. We seem to have dueling edits here as evidenced by the map entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.230.234.203 (talk) 20:50, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
