I'm not sure why this is getting deleted? Can you explain or help me understand what's wrong with my text? I'm not trying to promote this company

Thank you Thinkchrisonline (talk) 16:57, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Thinkchrisonline[reply]

I am not the person who flagged this for deletion, however I can explain why it was flagged.
Some of the phrases used in the article, like "premiere-event jewel", "such high stature", and "one of the circuit's finest courses" sound like they were written specifically to promote the club/tournament, and not from a neutral viewpoint. If those terms were used by a third-party reliable source to describe the club, then it may be ok to include them as direct quotes, as long as they are properly sourced. Putting them directly in the article makes it appear as though they are the opinions of the article's author, which violates Wikipedia's no original research policy.
Note that even if these concerns are addressed, the article may be deleted for other reasons. In particular, it appears that substantial portions of the article were copied from http://www.bayhill.com/fw/main/History-1594.html This is a violation of copyright, and the article can be deleted for that reason alone. In order to remain, the article also needs to demonstrate the notability of the Bay Hill Club. Given the fact that it is owned by Arnold Palmer and that major tournaments have been held there, it shouldn't be too hard to find reliable sources which have the Bay Hill Club as their subject.
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you want clarification on any of this. --Megaboz (talk) 17:26, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
