Battlefield 3
I noticed Battlefield 3 was added to the list, "with release in 2008". However, the only thing I've heard about BF3 until today was a supposed leaked PDF detailing some game data, at [1] and [2]. While I hope the series will have a third installment, I recall WP having a somewhat skeptical opinion of crystal-balling... Has anyone got other sources for this? Cctoide 01:52, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- You're right with the crystal-balling comment. Battlefield 3 should be removed until it's been officially confirmed that it's in development. Vanguard 01:57, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- Also, the links section appears to be spam... Cctoide 02:27, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I'm going to remove those links and put a link to the official site (the site doesn't seem to be a popular fan site, something like Planet Battlefield should go there if you're going to put a fan site. There's plenty of more notable fan sites out there but I'm not sure this article even needs them). I'm also removing the reference to Battlefield 3 but we both know it'll be constantly put back up there! Vanguard 13:58, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- Haris Aggelopoulos added this link to my comment; I'm moving it here. Cctoide 16:03, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't know whether its the same game, but Electronics Art recently announced a new Battlefield game called Battlefield Heroes. Here's the news article from BBC: [3]. It's supposedly going to be a free online game supported by advertisements and micro payments and will be available only online (not on retail that is) in summer 2008. Other details include the game having "a "cartoon-feel" and has been made simpler to play, with more emphasis on participation and fun than skill and strategy."
EDIT: I just found the official website: [4] - yxTay (talk) 10:44, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
There is a preview of PC Gamer [5] and there also is an official message, saying that BF: Heroes nor Bad Company are BF3. --Simon Moon (talk) 05:03, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
NPOV
Added due to the statements:
- now though it is treated badly as a game, and is worth more than people think.
- The latest game out, incredible gameplay and graphics a must buy!!Jared555 (talk) 03:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
This is despite the game being even more riddled with bugs on release than Battlefield 2, including many that were present in the beta's that were promised to be gone by release date. Some of these bugs are interfering with gameplay, as is being expressed widely over the internet. ^ NPOV edit? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.22.238.134 (talk) 00:53, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
- I've removed the 'as is being expressed widely over the internet.' from the article. Should make it better (I myself haven't encounted any bugs with the game, just the Battlelog/Origin system which should be kept seperate from this article.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akjar13 (talk • contribs) 09:11, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
AS it turned out, Battlefield 3 was ridddled with problems but 8 months down the road things appear to be improving if not solved for the majority — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.76.123.78 (talk) 00:57, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
Sources needed
There is only one source provided for the entire article. There is no reference for number of games sold, the statement that Star Wars Battlefront was influenced by the games, etc. Jared555 (talk) 05:58, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
6 Beat String
Can anybody add a .ogg to the page containing it? That should solve the "citation needed", and would add to the page's value in my opinion. It is extremely recognizable, and pertains to the series as a whole.
- Unfortunately, simply adding the "duh-duh-duh-da-da-DA" will not count as a citation, there still needs to be a reliable source that says that it is the series's theme song.--ZXCVBNM (TALK) 04:14, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
External links section
Now, things may be different here, but surely the links in the external links section should be to OFFICIAL sites, not UNOFFICIAL fan-made sites? Just asking... 83.67.50.184 (talk) 22:16, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Change XBONE to Xbox One or something. Microsoft does not recognize that as a legitimate name for it's console. 68.229.166.15 (talk) 21:05, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Direct3D, Vulkan and Mantle
EA DICE worked with AMD on Mantle and Vulkan is the successor to Mantle. Is there any info which game/game engine supports what? User:ScotXWt@lk 10:03, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
