Spelling

[edit]

I notice that the title of this article is 'Battle of Lansdowne [my emphasis]. The text above the first picture is spelt in the same way. However, as one reads down the page, it is noticeable that the 'e' is missing. I know that it can be spelt 'Lansdowne' or 'Lansdown' - it says so in the lede; but surely there should be consistent spelling throughout, especially as the differences are pointed out.
What do other editors think?

The Hill is currently known as Lansdown Hill, but to a onetime Bathonian the battle generally is Lansdowne with an "e". Spellings change I guess. Its more confusing here compared with Saxon battles where the name of the battle superficially does not resemble a current place name.
