Attribution of quote
[edit]I've chagned the attribution of the quote that was formerly credited to Cunningham. The wording appears identical to that of the official despatch, which the London Gazette credits to Vice Admiral Sir ALGERNON U. WILLIS, rather than Cunningham. Cunningham then presumably quoted this in his own book. David Underdown (talk) 12:13, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
L.R.F. Kenyon
[edit]Hi, I'm an italian boy (sorry for my english), and I'm writing some pages about dodecanese campaign in the italian wikipedia (Battle of Rodi, Battle of Lero and Dodecanese campaign... if you want to see them). So, I'm writing here beacuse I don't know the real name of the colonel L.R.F. Kenyon... do you know it? (For example: general H.H. Wilson --> general Henry Huges Wilson). Thank you for the answer!!!
Just in case, your Battle of Leros makes me in trouble. I don't think that in the only battle of leros SAAF lost 115 airplane!! Maybe in the whole campaign... :) Bye bye!! --Bonty90 (talk) 21:43, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think Colonel Kenyon should perhaps be L. F. R. Kenyon, in which case he would presumably be Lionel Frederick Robert Kenyon, as recorded at http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/details-result.asp?Edoc_Id=7694163. British Army officers can be traced in the London Gazette, there are no search results for L. R. F. Kenyon. David Underdown (talk) 21:49, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
... and thanks from another "Italian boy" (50 yrs old boy in this case) researching the case. Klod (talk) 20:27, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
