Military History Wikiproject assessment, August 2021

[edit]

@A. C. Santacruz: Thanks for your work on this article. I've assessed the article as not currently meeting B-class criteria B1 (referencing) and B2 (coverage and accuracy). This resulted in a start class assessment. My concern regarding criterion B1 is that the article is dependent on an 1846 source - more recent sources are really needed. My concern regarding criterion B2 is that the background section needs a paragraph or so explaining how this battle fitted into the conflict (material on what the conflict involved would be useful, as it's not well known). Thanks for the feedback! I'll see what I can do for the referencing A. C. Santacruz (talk) 06:51, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nick-D I have improved the Background section as well as added references from Mark Lawrence's 2014 history of the war. I will continue to add modern sources as I find them (I am forced to look for offline books at major universities in the Netherlands as coverage of the war is extremely rare outside of Spain, and won't get access to these collections until later in the month). If you have any other suggestions or comments I'd appreciate them dearly A. C. Santacruz Talk 18:32, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@A. C. Santacruz: those changes look good, but I think that material briefly explaining what this war was about and when it started is needed in the background section, so the article can stand on its own feet. Nick-D (talk) 22:38, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nick-D I have added some material to the Background section. Sorry for the long delay, I was distracted by other areas of WP and work. Santacruz Please ping me! 12:13, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
