Complete Edition?

[edit]

"On December 23, 1998 Gunnm: Complete Edition, a Japanese special edition, was released in six volumes in a larger B5 format."

I cannot find any information regarding this edition, nor is there an ISBN or a source for such an edition on this wiki, the Battle Angel Alita wiki or Amazon Japan. I've also searched in used shops around Japan and cannot seem to find this complete edition. There is a relative new edition (already out of print) of Battle Angel Alita called Ganmu Shinsouban ("Battle Angel Alita Recompiled Edition") but this is not a kanzenban ("complete edition"). Kanzenban are a different kind of manga compilations and they are exclusively referred to as kanzenban by both Amazon and the book stores. So if you were refering to the Shinsouban as the "complete edition" I'd advise you to change the terminoligy as it is not a kanzenban in the true meaning of the word. Also please provide a source or ISBN numbers for this complete edition volumes so people like me won't bug you about this subject in the future.--114.160.116.15 (talk) 14:40, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Suuuper late to the party, but just in case...
Yes, there is in fact a kanzenban. If someone is interested, and for future reference:
Volume 1, released on December 18, 1998, ISBN 4-08-782576-0
Volume 2, released on February 19, 1999, ISBN 4-08-782579-5
Volume 3, released on April 20, 1999, ISBN 4-08-782584-1
Volume 4, released on August 20, 1999, ISBN 4-08-782588-4
Volume 5, released on December 15, 1999, ISBN 4-08-782589-2
Volume 6, released on August 18, 2000, ISBN 4-08-782594-9
And no, it's not the same thing as the 2010 "new edition" you're referring to (said "new edition" became the reason why Kishiro left the publisher, which is why it went out of print almost immediately). 89.159.251.169 (talk) 19:15, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing/contradictory publication dates for Gunnm: Another Stories (Gunnm Gaiden)

[edit]

In the Manga section under Media:
Paragraph 2 says Gunnm: Another Stories was "published in Ultra Jump from January 24, 1997 to December 19, 2006" and "released in a single volume on December 19, 2007."
Paragraph 3 is about Gunnm: Complete Edition, which is says was "released in Japan on December 23, 1998" and included "rough sketches, a timeline and three short stories published later as Gunnm: Another Stories."
This isn't necessarily a contradiction (the 3rd paragraph could referring to the 2007 single-volume collection of Another Stories), but it's definitely not clear. Paragraph 3 makes it sound like the stories debuted in the Complete Edition, while paragraph 2 makes it sound like they debuted in Ultra Jump. Can anyone clarify? 66.104.231.82 (talk) 19:41, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
