Article Focus

[edit]

I believe more should be said about the roller coaster itself to bring it up to start class. robertjohnsonrj 19:09, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. A major focus to start with would be a description of the tack itself.Eastshire 01:40, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Importance Change

[edit]

I have rated this as High importance due to the sheer number of Batman: The Ride coasters.Eastshire 01:40, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fatal Accidents

[edit]

Do we really need to list these two accidents here? They were not directly related to the model of the roller coaster involved. This could have happened on any other roller coaster - and in both cases there is nobody to blame except of the people that were killed. (Maybe it should at lease be mentioned that in both cases it was their own fault and no fault of the ride itself, its operators, its designers or its builders.) --Colaholiker (talk) 20:40, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What should this article focus on?

[edit]

Should this article focus on:

  1. rides named Batman: The Ride (i.e. Six Flags installations only)?
  2. rides with a Batman theme (i.e. include Batman: La Fuga as well)?
  3. the model of roller coaster itself (i.e. Inverted Coaster - Batman)?

Any thoughts or comments would greatly be appreciated. Themeparkgc  Talk  23:20, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'd go with the first one and just have a hat note at the top about the others.--Astros4477 (talk) 23:39, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking for sure #1, and maybe you can include a little about #3.--Dom497 (talk) 14:32, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What are your thoughts on the article as it stands now? Anything missing? Since my original message I converted the article from this state to the current state. Themeparkgc  Talk  22:43, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks great! My only recommendation is to add info about the ACE Landmark status to maybe the history section as the lead should include what's in the article. Besides that, I'd say everything checks out.--Astros4477 (talk) 04:40, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In your digging through old award archives did you ever recall seeing Batman in the list? Maybe it's ACE Landmark status could be added to an awards section if the ride had received other awards. Themeparkgc  Talk  06:07, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do some more digging but it looks like all the Batman clones placed 76th in the last Best Steel Coaster Poll so that could be included.--Astros4477 (talk) 16:56, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just a heads up, the Great America ride's trains are going to run backwards this season it looks like so that'll have to be included. I don't think it's officially been announced.--Astros4477 (talk) 17:33, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]
Not quite sure what you mean by this. Could you please be more specific? Themeparkgc  Talk  23:56, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
"Each installation of Batman: The Ride has a track length of between 2,693 and 2,700 feet (821 and 820 m) and each reaches a height of between 100 and 105 feet (30 and 32 m)." Which coaster is 100 feet tall, which one is 105? Which one is 2,693, and which one is 2,700? From the way its worded, I understand it as one model is 100 feet while another one is 105, but I don't know which....or is it just the actually heights and lengths aren't known (if so, a reword would be nice)? Hope this helps, and if it doesn't just tell me and I'll try again....third time is the charm!--Dom497 (talk) 19:44, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Took a look at the RCDB pages and I think you got it wrong. The original was 100ft, while the others were a mix of either 100 or 105.--Dom497 (talk) 23:16, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I did get the two measurements round the wrong way. The original was 100 while the others named Batman: The Ride were 105. Fixed now. Themeparkgc  Talk  00:56, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • When talking about the ride layout, its describes one type of layout while there are mirrors which have the opposite. Maybe mention this somewhere in that section.--Dom497 (talk) 20:04, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There is already this line at the start of the section: "although the layout for each successive attraction is identical or a mirror image of the original" Themeparkgc  Talk  23:56, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Removed the word signature. Themeparkgc  Talk  23:56, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This ride is already installed in several Six Flags, as mentioned in Batman: The Ride. Aside from location and construction related minutiae, is this ride substantially any different or would it be mainly redundant? Creating an article for every new iteration smacks of WP:RECENTISM. --Animalparty-- (talk) 05:19, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Fiesta Texas one is not one of the other Batman clones. The only things in common is the theme and name. So, I don't think it should merge. Wackyike (talk) 22:52, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Agree that it's a completely different attraction from the Batman inverted coasters. Also, being a first of its kind will make it notable in and of itself. --McDoobAU93 23:32, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No need to merge the two articles as they are two different types of coasters and two different manufactures. --Jpp858 (talk) 05:28, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As proposer of the merge, I now see that the coasters are substantially different, and a merge is probably not warranted. I would ask that the "disambiguation" hatnote be clarified to be somewhat more helpful: e.g instead of simply not to be confused with Batman: The Ride (Six Flags Fiesta Texas), (which does little to reduce "confusion" for those not already familiar) a less ambiguous statement would be : --Animalparty-- (talk) 19:08, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Six Flags Mexico

[edit]

Why in the article doesn't appear the ride of Six Flags Mexico?

Should this be one article?

[edit]

I guess this is because I am a roller coaster enthusiast, but it feels wrong to have one article for several different roller coasters with different opening dates. Personally I think there should be one article for each coaster. Also because Batman The Ride at Six Flags in Mexico is not a B&M, and now we have B:TR at Six Flags Fiesta Texas which has the same name and theme but a different ride system.NemesisAT (talk) 23:19, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
