[edit]In this page it says that Basil I was called the Armenian, put the text about him says it is the Macedonian. I change it here to the Macedonian. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tananjoh (talk • contribs) 16:39, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Basil Hallward
[edit]Why is Basil Hallward from Dorian Gray being deleted when I add him? He's a significant literary character! How is he less noteworthy than a pet snake or a character in Playhouse Disney? I will continue to add him to this list. --71.74.89.197 (talk) 19:55, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- Because wikipedia:Disambiguation pages list only people who are known only by first name. - Altenmann >t 05:14, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- Isn't Basil Stag Hare a full name? Since Stag and Hare are treated as proper nouns, I assume so. --71.74.89.197 (talk) 20:51, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- No, it is not. Basil is a hare named simply Basil, who picked himself the second name "Stag". - Altenmann >t 03:37, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- But then Stag is considered his second name. That means he doesn't just have a first name, like the rule says. It doesn't matter whether he picked it himself or not. And Hare is being treated as his last name, because it's written as Hare and not hare. --71.74.89.197 (talk) 18:39, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Feminine?
[edit]Is there are feminized version of Basil? I can't figure out what it would be. Newjerseyliz (talk) 16:19, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Basileos is a title and not a name
[edit]Since "Basileos" is an honorific title in Syriac Churches, I do not think it is appropriate to list here along with people whose given name is Basil. Elizium23 (talk) 04:20, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
