Senior project
[edit]I am editing this article as part of a senior project. I plan to add sections that focus more on psychology and expand on anxiety. I also plan to find verifiable sources to make the article credible. (Klcopus (talk) 14:43, 21 February 2013 (UTC))
- Welcome Klcopus! Please remember that Wikipedia is not an academic paper or essay. Wikipedia articles should not be based on WP:primary sources, but on reliable, published secondary sources (for instance, journal reviews and professional or advanced academic textbooks) and, to a lesser extent, on tertiary sources (such as undergraduate textbooks). WP:MEDRS describes how to identify reliable sources for medical information, which is a good guideline for many psychology articles as well. I have been working on this article and making modifications in my sandbox. I have added sections and greatly expanded the article. I found verifiable sources. Hoping to improve the article so it can be a credible psychology article.(Klcopus (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:15, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
I posted what I have been working on for my senior project. I added sections that focused more on the psychology aspect of basic anxiety. I also added some background information on Karen Horney and what guided her theories of basic anxiety. I also found verifiable sources. (Klcopus (talk) 13:55, 28 March 2013 (UTC))
Sources
[edit]Sources mentioned in this article are as incomplete as they can be. No mention of book title, year or page number. I have twice asked editor Klcopus to complete the sources but she has not done this. When googling part of the quote in the first section: "direct or indirect domination, indifference, erratic behavior, lack of respect for the child's individual needs" the first result is http://psychology.about.com/od/theoriesofpersonality/a/neuroticneeds.htm. The quote here in Basic anxiety starts in the exact same way as the quote on the website ". . . direct or indirect domination" and also finishes at the same point. Quite a coincidence. PS I now replaced the source "Horney" with this website - even though it is not a reliable secondary source. But it seems to be the source that has been used. Lova Falk talk 17:02, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
Eventual rewrite, please?
[edit]Once user Klcopus' school project is done, this article will be in need of a rewrite to make it conform to Wikipedia's internal standards for encyclopedia content. 96.36.104.238 (talk) 19:57, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
