[edit]

I took the time to break down Barry's career into sections instead of it being only one big section

In 1991 he was supposed to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. But Ric Flair (who was the current WCW Champion) was fired and they went in another direction with the title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.117.49.133 (talk) 00:21, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

I don't know how to upload photos, but is it to much to ask to have an image of Barry Windham that is actually good enough in quality that we can make out what his face looks like?

That picture is of spike dudley not barry windham.

NWA did not become WCW.

[edit]

This error is repeated too often in wrestling articles which were obviously written by people who do not understand professional wrestling history. The NWA was, and still is, an alliance of several promotions all over the world. JCP was a member of the NWA (by far the biggest and most well-known NWA member) but still only one NWA affiliated promotion out of dozens. When JCP was renamed WCW, it was still only one of dozens of NWA members. It eventually split from the NWA after declaring its own world champions and was later bought by the WWF (now WWE) while the NWA continues to exist as an affiliation of dozens of small promotions. This mistake is repeated in too many articles to even bother changing it, but maybe somebody with more time will get around to making these changes eventually.Kdb1965 (talk) 05:00, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I've edited for clarity here. "In May 1990, Windham returned to WCW" makes no sense in any context considering that sentence is the first mention of WCW in the article, barring the lead. This article isn't really the place to delve into wrestling history and promotions separating and what have you, so a simple "In May 1990, Windham joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW)" works in this case, I think. Barry Windham's first match

[edit]

I recall seeing Barry Windham wrestle Don Murraco when he was only 18 years old. This was a TV taping of Championship Wrestling from Florida at the Tampa Sportatorium. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.89.181.117 (talk) 00:04, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Windham/Mero storyline

[edit]

What's the specific source for the idea that Windham would "stalk" Sable and slit her throat? I've never seen it anywhere besides a page on TVTropes, which is far from a reliable source. Without an answer to this I'll be removing this info in the next few days. PeteF3 (talk) 01:48, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a John?

[edit]

It looks like someone decided to play vandalism in this article and put John Lennon as one of Barry Windham's sons. There is a John from a previous relationship, if not, it should be deleted from this article, because i'm translating it to the spanish wikipedia and i wouldn't like to put wrong information on the translated article. --Workalot (talk) 23:48, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is a John. He had him with his then girlfriend when he was 21 years of age. They broke up why she was pregnant and his mother and grandmother helped raise him while he was always in the road. Johnnybeawesome (talk) 00:58, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"He was a fan favorite for most of the early and middle periods of his career,"

[edit]

"Most?" Was he ever a heel before joining the Horsemen in 1988? He had a Nice Guy/Mr Clean reputation (up there with Ricky Steamboat, Tito Santana and Kerry Von Erich) up until the turn on Luger.Romomusicfan (talk) 18:40, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
