Robin Hood category

[edit]

I know I am being stubborn about this, but come one guys here is what the Robin Hood catedory says-

Articles relating to the "Robin Hood" legend; typically individual bandits who become icons of class conflict after their death: "Steal from the rich, give to the poor.

Now how has greenstein become an icon of class conflict after his death (even though he is still alive). He is a damn fine poker player but he isn't a bandit by any stretch of the imagination.- Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg | Talk 06:47, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Look, he's not "typically" but the article obviously relates to the Robin Hood myth. It's his nickname. How many people need to revert this till you leave it alone? 2005 07:45, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand what's unclear about this. "Articles relating to the "Robin Hood" legend" seems pretty self-explanatory to me. Barry Greenstein is known as the "Robin Hood of poker". If that doesn't make this related to the Robin Hood legend, then what would?
The category doesn't say "Articles related to bandits" or "Articles related to dead bandits". It says "typically", which clearly means that not all articles related to Robin Hood are about dead bandits. Rray

Are all of these external links necessary? It seems more like advertising on the part of all these different poker sites... --MattWright (talk) 22:53, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The idea to focus on is to have good content things that help the user, not some generalized concept about about advertising. 2005 23:49, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hendon list / WPT results

[edit]

Not sure if they didn't make a mistake by not adding the WPT icon by 2 of his results & if they should be counted in his WPT stats [1]

  • "15-Apr-04 $ 2,500 No Limit Hold'em

2004 Bellagio Five-Star World Poker Classic/WPT Championship, Las Vegas 1st $ 215,969

  • 02-Apr-03 $ 1,500 Limit Hold'em

2003 Bellagio Five-Star World Poker Classic WPT Championship, Las Vegas 2nd $ 59,073" --Sirex98 17:12, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Those aren't WPT events. The WPT Championships is $25k to enter. Those are just Bellagio tournament events. 2005 20:15, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Donations remark

[edit]

When asked in a one-table Pokerstars online tournament on March 24, 2007 whether he still donated all his winnings, he replied, "No, I play so many tournaments, I can't afford to give it all away." I was there, but of course this can't be verified. Clarityfiend 17:41, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was just watching the WPT Father Son tournament and Mike Sexton mentioned how Greenstein was the Robin Hood of Poker, because he donates a "portion" of his tournament winnings. So that's more verification. - Wazootyman
