Hilton Family Fortune
[edit]The Jerry Oppenheimer book ("House of Hilton") is listed as a reliable source in the last paragraph of this section, but Barron Hilton never said that he was embarrassed by Paris Hilton; Jerry Oppenheimer said it. The article does not gain anything by the inclusion of this reference and there is no way for it to be verified. Please remove it.
- Full disclosure--I work for the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and Barron Hilton is our Chairman Emeritus. We are aware and respectful of Wikipedia's editing policies. We do not want to self-promote our organization, but we would like the information presented to be factually correct. Also, Mr. Hilton would like his signature removed from this page please. We know that there has been an in-depth discussion about including signatures of living people, but do not see the value in including on this page where it could potentially be misused. Thank you.--Moorghen (talk) 22:45, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
Education of Hilton
[edit]Anyone got a reference of it? thanks in advance
- I thought I read somewhere that he did not finish high school and that is something he regrets, but I can't seem to find the source that mentioned this... bluegreen 19:35, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Disinherited All Eleven Grandchildren
[edit]This article states he disinherited all of his grandchildren. TheKatK 00:45, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
You can't really disinherit anyone until you die; since the old man is still alive, his current will/estate plan might disinherit them, but any will can be changed right up until the moment of death. Also, are none of his children alive? If they are alive, and he's giving them money, the grandchildren aren't really disinherited, as their parents would represent them. If he is disinheriting his children as well as grandchildren, then that should be noted. Finally, although someone may be technically disinherited in a will, if they have been provided for in trusts or other financial instruments during Barron's life or at his death, they aren't truly disinherited eihter. Anyway, while he is alive and until a court signs off on his estate plan, all he can do is have an intent to disinherit. Ileanadu (talk) 04:38, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Disinherited Paris
[edit]http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22157701-1702,00.html He has disinherited Paris, but the article is unclear on if he stopped there. It says "He now doesn't want to leave unearned wealth to his family." and "Hilton senior, the only member of the family left with a sizeable stake in the huge hotel chain, has let it be known that he intends to donate to charity the $2.4bn he will gain from this month's sale of the company to private equity firm Blackstone." but doesn't say everyone else got cut out in some way as well. test TheKatK 00:32, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Announcement re Vice Presidency - Why is this important?
[edit]The article says that the announcement about Barron's appointment as a Vice President
- "was made on November 16, 1954, by Robert P. Williford, Executive Vice President"
What's the relevance of this statement? Ileanadu (talk) 04:41, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

POV concerns
[edit]This article is so ridiculously hagiographic that it sounds like it was written by Hilton's PR team. I would list problems, but almost every sentences is filled with unnecessary peacockry. It also contains a lot of trivial information more appropriate for a lifestyle magazine. If any editor has a problem with my assessment, please let me know. 85.149.13.48 (talk) 19:52, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Hilton Hotels
[edit]- He also introduced progressive Pot o' Gold slot machines that produced a succession of world record jackpots, generating free publicity around the world.[citation needed]
- The Las Vegas Hilton also left its mark on boxing, hosting the famous upset of Muhammad Ali by Leon Spinks in 1978, and the 1986–1989 heavyweight tournament won by Mike Tyson that made him a household name.[citation needed]
- He also launched Conrad International in the '80s,[1] and Hilton Garden Inn in the '90s,[2] adding two brands that covered important price points at opposite ends of lodging's pricing spectrum.[citation needed]
- In 2006, the gaming company was acquired by two private equity funds, Apollo Management and Texas Pacific Group, and still operates as Caesars Entertainment.[citation needed]
- With another 373,000 rooms in the development pipeline,[3] the company has all but assured the continued presence of the Hilton brand in the global lodging marketplace through the 21st Century and beyond.[citation needed]
