Puff queen
The lead is presently 75% puff (awards, accolades, sales figures, platinum records, and other wall hangings). And it mentions a few movies.
Is she merely notable as the most puffed artist of all time? (Much of which she probably deserved, I might add, in case people are reading that wrong.) Anything else about the woman might be notable? No, nothing? It's like reading the lead of the uber Paris Hilton, way more famous still, but still not half as famous as she truly deserves to be, on actual merit, to be discussed later. — MaxEnt 18:34, 28 December 2017 (UTC)

Edit needed
How does her father's appearance add to this article? Who cares? If it can't be tied in to something relevant about the subject (Barbra), then it should be removed. Most of that section is irrelevant except to stalkers and others with some sort of BS fetish. New subject: About 10 years ago, I read that she was considered to be "the" most powerful woman in Hollywood. While I suspect things have changed, she IS 77 now, if someone can find that reference, it would add to the article, I think.173.184.26.190 (talk) 19:32, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
Actually, she's 76, as of today. (Carycomic) 10:43, 24 Apr. 2018 (EDT)

In the box on the right there is only one sibling mentioned, while there are two (as the article itself also mentions). Please add brother Sheldon. 188.188.85.3 (talk) 23:19, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
- Not done. Her brother is not independently notable, while her sister is. The instructions at Template:Infobox person say that relatives are listed in the infobox "only if independently notable or particularly relevant." Peabody
The article now uses a page at the official site of the Peabody Awards to support the figure of 4 awards. It says "...with an amazing four claims to Peabodys...". The second listed does include the wording of "... Streisand shared a second Peabody...". But shared is still a win in the same way that Nobels are shared but credited as a win. The page you provide to the search results only uses the word "three" once and it's not in the context of number of awards. So, I don't see a reason for making a change to the text of the article for this particular award. †dismas†|(talk) 19:29, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

The site you're using as a reference is not a reliable source, in my opinion. See WP:SPS. †dismas†|(talk) 19:32, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Barbra Streisand won 8 voiting-competion personal Golden Globes as director, actress composer and the Cecil B. DeMille Award, plus which "As a producer, she was presented with Golden Globes for A Star is Born and Yentl, each of which won the Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy."

Thank you for getting back to me. As I previously mentioned, Barbra has won 11 Golden Globes.
On the Golden Globes website it lists that she has won 8 voiting-competion personal Golden Globes as director, actress composer and the Cecil B. DeMille Award. PLUS "As a producer, she was presented with Golden Globes for A Star is Born and Yentl, each of which won the Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy." This would bring it from 8 awards to 11 Golden Globes on her shelves.

There's a section in her early career titled "television appearances, marriage and first albums" which includes a summary of many of her earliest TV appearances. Her appearance on the CBS show "The Judy Garland Show" should be mentioned here. It does not appear to be mentioned anywhere else in the article (my apologies if it is and I did not notice it elsewhere).
Her appearance with Garland is well remembered and includes an arrangement that mixes Streisand singing "Happy Days Are Here Again" with Garland's "Get Happy." Here's a recent link talking about the clip in "iconic" terms: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/8532378/barbra-streisand-judy-garland-duet 2601:282:1300:296:99AD:2A7:83A4:8E23 (talk) 18:01, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

The beginning of the article states that she is one of only two artists to have won a Peabody award in addition to the EGOT. This changed in 2019 with Rita Moreno's win. The EGOT wikipedia page has been updated to reflect this: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/List_of_people_who_have_won_Academy,_Emmy,_Grammy,_and_Tony_Awards. This page should be updated to reflect this. Change 'two' to 'three'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.59.211.133 (talk) 01:27, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Please change "Her co-star in Driftwood was Joan Rivers" to "Comedienne Joan Rivers also appeared in Driftwood. Possible category removal
Barbra Streisand is currently placed in the Category:Brit Award winners, but it doesn't mention anywhere in the article that she did indeed won a Brit Award, so therefore I am requesting for that category to be removed. Is this possible? 2001:569:78BA:4A00:A1EB:48AD:5B1B:7E12 (talk) 07:51, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Or, the fact that she won the award for Memories in 1983 can be mentioned in the article. She was the first woman to win in the category of Best Selling Album. She did not attend the ceremony, and Michael Jackson accepted the award for her. Binksternet (talk) 11:20, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
Kind marriage
The last sentence of the Family section erroneously states that her mother and stepfather married in 1949. Louis Kind married Diana Rosen on December 23, 1950 in Jersey City. Please correct the error. You might also want to remove that disorderly assemblage of citations and use an appropriate source, such as James Spada's biography of Barbra. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.181.74.57 (talk) 03:45, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

Is there a reason her popular nickname "Babs" is not mentioned in the article?
Mrs. Streisand has long been often referred to by the nickname Babs, yet this is not mentioned in the article. Unless there is a good reason to omit this, then we should add it to the article. Other Barbara's like Walters and Bush have not been referred to as Babs in the same way, so I think this bit info info belongs in the article. If you disagree, then make a case otherwise I will add it. --Notcharliechaplin (talk) 22:38, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

Relationship with Michael Cimino
I think the inclusion of Michael Cimino as Streisand's partner is significant. However brief it may be, the biography of Cimino does mention that he briefly dated Streisand in 1983, which led to him considering her for a role The Fountainhead. It's a very small part, and can easily be overlooked if you read it yourself. Very briefly mentioned. Still, it was a relationship for the both of them. I ask that any reversions on the matter be given second thought. Just because no one "talks" about it I don't think means it shouldn't be included as fact. And the source comes from Cimino's closest ally, Joann Carelli, who said he had went with her in '83. Elton interviewed her for the book. Why would she lie? Cimino was private, and it was a brief little fling between the two. Makes sense to me. And doesn't sound like slander. Worth mentioning, I think. At least in some form. I did not find any reference to Barbra's career-changing series of five TV specials in the early to mid-1960s. I suggest that an editor more knowledgeable on this topic than me add a new sub-section. PlaysInPeoria (talk) 15:32, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
