Birthdate

[edit]

I have commented out all the instances of her birthdate in the article. I did not find the information in the sources provided. It should be sourced to a reliable source prior to readding to the article. ~~ GB fan ~~ 19:35, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Birth place

[edit]

InterCity(IC) has changed Palvin's birth place from Albertirsa to Budapest, and was reverted. They recently provided a response on their talk page [1], and I am copying the response and responding below. – wallyfromdilbert (talk) 22:38, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. The only source you provided does not say that she was born in Albertirsa. Otherwise, all except Spanish Wikipedia writes that she was born in Budapest. Provided with resources. In Albertirsa, only her grandmother lives and visits many times, so she was mistaken for being born there. Some sources, which writes born in Budapest:

Looking through those sources, most do not look reliable per WP:RS. IMDB is user-generated content and the Sun is deprecated per WP:RSP. The Hungarian sources also do not look reliable. However, the W source is reliable and has a direct quote about her birth place from Palvin, and so I am going to change the article with that information since it is a better source than the current Spanish one in the article. – wallyfromdilbert (talk) 22:38, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Recent article renaming

[edit]

I see this article was renamed to "Barbara Sprouse" with no discussion. The change seems kind of questionable to me. I get that this is now her married name, but Wikipedia says we should use a subject's common name as supported by sources, and the media still refers to her as "Barbara Palvin" (see all the recent VS Fashion Show coverage) as does her agencies IMG and NEXT. Referring to her as "Barbara Sprouse" seems highly uncommon. I think the article name should be reverted. Mbinebri (talk) 13:13, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
