11th or 34th

[edit]

The text of Jamuna bridge says that it is 11th. But in your List of bridges by length page shows that it is just 34th. Need to be corrected in the Jamuna bridge text.

Maybe it is the 11th RAIL bridge, though 34th bridge of any kind? Tabletop 10:38, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

also, jamuna bridge is nearly a kilometer shorter than Mahatma Gandhi Setu (India). both these bridges are on a river.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Kshpin (talkcontribs) 21:56, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

3-rail or 4-rail dual gauge?

[edit]
Jamuna Multi-purpose Bridge showing 8 rows of bolts for 4 rails

The picture seems to show bolts for 4-rail dual gauge, with four rows of bolts on either side. Tabletop (talk) 01:54, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maps?

[edit]

Are there any maps showing the railway lines over the Jamuna bridge? Tabletop (talk) 10:02, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bangabandhu BridgeJamuna Bridge

"Jamuna Bridge" is the widely recognized WP:COMMONNAME and historically accurate name. It was happily bearing the name "Jamuna Bridge" since 1998. But during Sheikh Hasina's regime, she renamed it after her father controversially.
Furthermore, the under-construction Railway Bridge next to this bridge was recently renamed to Jamuna Railway Bridge from "Bangabandhu Railway Bridge", indicating a return to the use of common and socially acceptable names for infrastructure.
Therefore, the article should be renamed Jamuna Bridge as soon as possible.
