Disputed edit

[edit]

The second secondary school of Bandar Utama is opposite Centrepoint and was recently opened in 2004. It consists mostly of Kayu Ara residents and "dark skinned" students.

The third and fourth secondary schools are in BU3 and BU4 respectively. Both opened at the same time but BU4 currently has more students due to their sweet-talking and "promote-oriented" headmistress. The BU3 school is slowly expanding and has a bad name because it is known for its "bully teachers".

As someone who is familiar with all three schools mentioned, I think the "dark skinned" comment is not only POV but unwarranted; I've seen a fair number of Chinese studying there. The sentences on BU4 and BU3 are too weasel wordy, IMO, and in an inappropriate tone for an encyclopaedia. I wouldn't argue with those claims, though. Johnleemk | Talk 14:01, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I Think Not

[edit]

BOO! The comments by johnleemk as said in the above paragraph make only little sense as the edit on the bu2 school may be wrong(racism) but i think the edit on bu3 and bu4 school makes sense though i do not know whether it is true!

Please refer to our neutral point of view policy. Johnleemk | Talk 15:34, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

A town?

[edit]

I don't think the "bandar" is literal. It's more of a suburb, isn't it? Borisblue 4 July 2005 06:57 (UTC)

Damansara or Sungai Buloh?

[edit]

Bandar Utama is under Sungai Buloh mukim. However, as a federal constituency it's under Damansara. The opening sentence should reflect this somehow — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.132.132.24 (talk) 16:14, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Questions, questions...

[edit]

How many schools are there actually? We've got 3 national primary schools (SK) and 1 SJK(T) in BU11, and SJK(C) in BU 6... so that makes 5 Primary schools, right?

If there was an error in my edit on the schools, pls change it. Thanks

References!

[edit]

I'm going to delete some stuff here that seems unreferenced and contentious such as:

1)The reason for the opening of so many schools (9 in total, not inclusive of the college) in the Bandar Utama area was because the developers of the area decided not to build low-cost houses (which is a requirement by the government for every housing estate to have low-cost homes), as low-cost homes would not profit the developers. In exchange for not building low-cost houses, the developers instead built a number of schools and a community centre as a trade-off in a deal with the local government (MPPJ)

2)and the allegation of gangsterism problems in DU and Dj

Unless someone comes up with some references. I live in BU, I know these things are more or less true (though describing DJ as "not entirely free from gangsterism" is a bit of an understatement) but this violates No original research. Borisblue 05:44, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
