Someone needs to check on the name of her son. I doubt it's "Manachinko". Sounds like the page was vandalized. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Made in DNA (talkcontribs) 03:53, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If Banana Yoshimoto married former Zimbabwe president Canaan Banana, would she become Banana Banana? Das Baz, aka Erudil 20:37, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

No, she'd be a necrophile. 198.189.249.71 (talk) 03:02, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, point taken. Let's put it this way: If Canaan Banana, while he was still alive, had married Banana Yoshimoto, she would have become Mrs. Banana Banana. Das Baz, aka Erudil 18:39, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

how is 'pulp fiction' an appropriate genre?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.174.130.251 (talk) 02:00, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How her name is written

[edit]

It says that she writes her name in hiragana, but if you google her books [1] [2], you will see that her family name is sometimes written in kanji on the cover.--Mycomp (talk) 11:53, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

She switched to writing her family name in hiragana in 2002, it was in kanji before that. Books will have the spelling of the name from the time they were published - so those from before 2002 will have the family name written in kanji.--Kinkankoku (talk) 02:43, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography

[edit]

The bibliography here is very lacking. I know that not everything she's done has been translated into English, but these should still be listed. Unfortunately, I can't read Japanese (I know Chinese, and I noticed the discrepancy when searching for an official English title for one of her books that I downloaded). Can someone who reads Japanese give us a fuller bibliography? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 111.251.175.203 (talk) 16:41, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pulp fiction?

[edit]

I have read a couple of books by Banana Yoshimoto, and I am not sure in what sense they should be considered pulp fiction. --83.250.33.172 (talk) 20:50, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
