Distinguishing between a ballroom room within a building and a dancehall

[edit]

Should we have two Ballroom pages, one for ballrooms that are formal rooms within a residential structure or palace and one for ballrooms that are stand-alone dance venues? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenmayer (talkcontribs) 16:55, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stone floor?

[edit]

The text talks about stone or hardwood floor. A stone floor with no give would be very dangerous when dancing and a hardwood floor with no give is not much better. One needs a bit of give if dancing unless it is extremely sedate. Old houses had joists underneath which gave a bit but something like a sprung floor as they had in all the dance halls when they were popular is what's really wanted. really bad article

[edit]

wow - how sad that some important 'real' Ballrooms are missing \ for example Casino Ballroom on Catalina [see https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Catalina_Casino] \ and much of the text in the article is just wrong and written from ignorance [and/or bad translation] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:B850:320:D0D:2E60:8706:E7E0 (talk) 18:23, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
