Friendly Arm Inn

[edit]

I searched on Friendly Arm Inn and got re-directed here. Should not Friendly Arm Inn be an article on it's own?

It depends what you where looking for and the amount of information you have about this inn. Reply to David Latapie 22:59, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I changed the re-direct to Sword Coast where there's a few lines on the Friendly Arm Inn. Poulsen 02:38, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Friendly Arm Inn isn't even in a city! Unless you could call the Inn a city in itself... (I personaly think it's big enough, you know)James.Denholm 09:27, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite

[edit]

Almost all of this article was copies word-for-word from Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast. I aligned it to the format used for the Waterdeep entry, and rewrote what was necessary. I'm not convinced the Places of Interest section needs to look like it does, or even exist. I still plan to tweak what's here. Is this acceptable for the cleanup?--RYard 05:35, 9 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't this Volo's Guide available for download? I don't remember the exacts terms of WotC's policy, but I think text can be copied (as long as source is mentionned, I guess). Reply to David Latapie 23:26, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Alignment

[edit]

First, thanks for removing the clean-up tag. Glad I was able to help there. Second, we need to come up with a consistent standard with labeling FR articles. There are too many cooks. It doesn't look like a template is popular, and that's fine. I propose the following sentence to start each FR article:

I agree to whoever recently edited the Baldur's Gate article that location is better than city. However, I strongly prefer leaving out the Toril reference. It's just not common enough usage to use. Please leave any suggestions here to start with, as I am planning on changing the several entries I recently wrote to reflect this.

  • OK for replacing Toril with Forgotten Realms.
  • Not OK for deleting the template, but I don't disagree enough to fight on this topic.
if you want to modify a template, copy its name (you'll find it on the code) and type http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Template:template's name. Here, it would be http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Template:FR-location

Possible movie

[edit]

If a film director is to make Baldur's gate a movie, which location do you think is most sutable?

Pece Kocovski 03:31, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

New Orleans, more correctly, the French Quarter, would be the best place to shoot the movie. For one, thanks to modern computer technology, many elements of the city can be removed, or replaced with more fantastical elements. Also, the French Quarter itself (as well as sections north of it) follow the Mississippi River around a large bend, which is very similar to the shape of Baldur's Gate. (It was stated that Baldur's Gate resembles a crescent moon due to the shape of it's coast-line. For the same reason with the Mississippi RIver, New Orleans is known as the Crescent City.) ethernaut 10:42, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Forgotten Realms Wiki

[edit]

Please consider redirecting users to w:c:forgottenrealms:Baldur's Gate (city) at the Forgotten Realms Wiki where we have a more detailed article on the subject, which is not subject to deletion on notability grounds. I cannot do this thanks to the conflict of interest thing. Fw190a8 (talk) 06:21, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Since nobody has objected I'm removing the "notability" tag. I agree the article is not well written, but given the subject matter and references its notability is unquestionable. Let me know if there is any problem.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.119.91.132 (talkcontribs) 02:34, 21 April 2008
