Name
[edit]Balchik isn't mentioned on the Balik page. Is it really named after him? How do you get in Bulgarian Slavic from Balik to Balchik? A diminutive maybe? Because Turkish balcık would be less flattering (it means slime) ;)) Arminden (talk) 13:12, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
Pls clarify
[edit]- "Echo" (Jenny Bair), and the boyar Balik inhabits the said castle opposite it on the hill above the present hospital, south of the great fortress, which the centuries have now completely obliterated. Dobrotitsa, after ruling for some time here, moved the capital of the Karvun despotate from Karvuna to Kaliakra.
Mistranslation? Why echo between quot. marks? Who is Jenny Bair? To what time does this refer? At least the century! Is it a quotation from a memoir or other text? If yes: quot. marks are obligatory!!! Where does the quotation end? Pls. consider blockquote format. Unsourced, cannot go check myself. Terribly poor editing. - Rebelbear, hi. It looks like you've introduced it all by "translating" (with Google Translate?) material from the Bulgarian article. This is a laudable effort, but it doesn't work like this on English Wiki: if it doesn't make sense (and it doesn't), it MUST be either reworked - or removed, and that would be a pity. And it needs a reference to a reliable source! If you wish, we can work on it together. Cheers, Arminden (talk) 16:32, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
