Removal of relevant information
[edit]Someone removed information on this page about Baker's graduation rates and lack of gainful employment disclosures. This is important information, since this article portrays Baker as a legitimate private university, and relevant to someone wanting objective information on this college.
This talkpage has also been blanked numerous times. I'd like to remind any Baker recruiters that editing your employer's Wikipedia page to manage your company's reputation is unethical. This is an article on Baker College, not an advertisement or brochure. I have since restored the information with references. If anyone takes issue with this, let's discuss it on this talkpage and come to a consensus instead of deleting content. --50.4.162.0 (talk) 00:11, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
NPOV dispute
[edit]In light of what has been said by 50.4.162.0, the lack of substantial 3rd party sources, and the constant removal of 3rd party sourced edits made by 50.4.162.0, I think it is fair to state that the article may be biased. I have flagged the page as disputed therefore.
This article does read as an advertisement, with an overbearing extensive history of the college that is almost completely not sourced, and lack of other relevant information found typically on colleges. Further, information of the college being private and non-profit is not sourced, invalidating the statement. -robert smith30 21:00, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
Transfer Credits
[edit]Whoever keeps posting that Baker College's credits do not transfer is obviously a disgruntled student or employee. I was once a student at Baker College and all of my credits transferred to an accredited public university in California (UCSD). The first reference which was used linked to a non-existent web page, and the second reference clearly shows that credits from Baker transfer to that community college. I have removed the POV dispute for this reason. If anyone feels there is more bias, feel free to edit or re-add the POV dispute. However, after reading this article, I do not see any bias toward or against Baker College. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.215.211.156 (talk) 02:13, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
- It's a directly sourced statement. Your anecdotal experience is irrelevant, because wikipedia does not allow original research. --50.4.162.0 (talk) 17:24, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
Plagiarism of History section
[edit]This page's history section is nearly a complete copy and paste of a 1st party source (http://www.baker.edu/about-baker/history-of-baker-college/). The only differences noticed were possible revisions Baker College did to their own History portion of their website. This needs either a massive cleanup and proper sourcing, or a complete rewrite.
I have flagged both the introduction and history section. Please do not remove these until the matter has been resolved, thank you.

- Good job spotting this as it seems to have been siting there since 2006. However, obvious copyright violations such as this should always be dealt with as quickly as possible either by removing the text or rewriting it. I have now removed the majority of the history section for this reason. I left the parts about 2008 onwards as they're fine and rewrote a quick paragraph about the founding so it's not so empty. The rest needs to be rewrote from scratch, preferably with non-primary sources. Sarahj2107 (talk) 23:35, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
